Do Cels Need to "Breathe?"

For the n00bs of cel collecting and production art . . . and for some of us old-timers, too. Post your questions on anything that puzzles you.

Do you cut a hole in your cel bags so that the cel can "breathe"?

I personally never cut my bags. I just don't see the point. I also don't know if the bags I have are 100% seal proof. I have gotten that same sort of accordion effect after putting a bunch of new cels in one of my books but after a week or so the air is gone. So I don't think putting holes in a bag matters. To me the best way to prevent fading is to keep it out of the damn sun. I also wonder about the impact of the oils in ones hand on the effect on the paint.

That brings me to a question. How do you handle your cels? Do you wear gloves or just use your bear hands? I think this could have an impact on what happens to your cels in the long run as well.
