One of my favorite things to do is find wishlist cels for other people, not for self-beneficial reasons but becuase I like to see people get their wishlist items.

Nephreena and I are close friends, we have negotiate on cels together and with other people. If a DREAM wishlist cel should appear that BOTH of us REALLY want... we would most likely SPLIT the cost and share the cel between both of us. It's a risky thing between alot of friends becuase greed and jealousy might get in the way but I trust Nephreena completely. I know her VERY well; she speaks her mind and isn't a person who'd say one thing, then turn around and go against it. She's also a very loyal person so I would do what I could to make a compromise or agreement between the two of us; Knowing that if one of us had to part with the cel mentioned, the other person would have first priority to have it.

If it was a DIFFERENT friend like on Beta, I would try to work something out with them, too. If it's something that the other person wants more than me, I'll step back no problem!

My cat Temperance I call her Tempe for short.

My cat Seeley is a Sailor Moon fan, too!

I didn't anticipate on having a black female cat and a white male cat or I would have named them Luna and Artemis... oh well.

That's true for me, I don't know anyone in the same country as me that collects from the same series ;)

Again, I've had this too, it's a shame that some people react in this way- if they really wanted the cel, they should have bid higher knowing that they could be sniped. Whoever wants the cel most is whoever will pay the most for it. That the obvious auction rule which is best played out on YJ with their "10+ minute" rule for snipers.

In answer to the original question of this thread, I tend to work things out with people if I happen to know anyone who might buy/bid on the art. In a couple of cases it's resulted in us joining forces and combining funds to get what we want (when it comes to bulk lots) so we're both winners!

When it comes down to faceless auction bidders, those I don't know, I'll go all out (up to my limit) because I don't know them from Adam. I think that I deserve the item as much as they do. May sound selfish but that's the way to do it if your a true collector. Giving in too many times and your heart isn't in the hobby- you're just playing at it.
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me;
"Smile and be happy, things could be worse".
So I smiled and was happy
and behold;
things did get worse...
