New Anime Season Oct 2005

Post by Keropi »

Here is a list of most of the anime of the new Oct 2005 anime season from Moonphases website. I'm not sure which of these are classified as OVAs instead of TV series, but I tried to leave OVAs out:

?Idatenjump - October 1st 2005 9:30 AM
http://www.idatenjump.com/
About competitive biking? ?^_^?

???Fight god of beauty Takeshi dragon (Fighting Beauty Wulong) - October 2nd 2005 12:55AM
http://www.youngsunday.com/rensai/comics/wooron.html
Female hand to hand fighting competition anime.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's - October 2nd 1:35 AM
http://www.nanoha.com/
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5770
I guess the first season was popular enough to have this one too. I know this guy that will be pulling his hair out over this coming out. :D

Canvas 2 - October 3rd 12:00AM
http://www.kadokawa.co.jp/canvas2/
Based off the second Canvas game apparently. The colors look less pastel than the first series. It'll very likely have a painting theme to it like the first Canvas anime/game.

Happy Seven - October 3rd 12:30 AM - 13 episodes
http://www.happy-7.jp/
Shounen series about girl and Seven battling evil forces.

Angel Heart - October 4th 12:58 AM
http://www.ytv.co.jp/angelheart/index.html
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5487
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=3256
This is a spin off from the City Hunter manga.

To Heart 2 - October 4th 2:15 AM
http://www.toheart2.net/
Based off the second To Heart game. The two characters on the front page had their gaming character designs done by the same two people who created the Shuffle character's designs (Aoi Nishimata and Hiro Suzuhira). I believe the To Heart 2 game had a number of famous character designers creating designs for a character or two each.

Capeta - October 4th 6:00PM
http://www.capeta-tv.com/
Looks like Indy car racing.

Animal Yokochou - October 4th 6:30 PM
http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/anime/aniyoko/
Looks like it's more of a kids show, but I'm not sure.

Jigoku shoujo (Hell Girl) - October 5th 12:00 AM - 26 episodes
http://www.jigokushoujo.com/
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5577
It's a shoujo suprnatural series. From seeing the first episode I can see some slight similarities to Vampire Princess Miyu.

Cluster Edge - October 5th 1:00 AM
http://www.cluster-edge.net/
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=4671
A shoujo series with a lot of male characters in it taking place during a 1890's-1920's-like period.

??Akagi - October 5th 1:20 AM
http://www.ntv.co.jp/akagi/
Webpage tells me nothing. I just see a guys face and a gambling table.

Gunparade Orchestra - October 5th 2:40 AM
http://www.gpo-anime.jp/
An apparent sequel to Gunparade March with a different cast. The main character appears to be the battle coordinator.

Shakugan no SHANA - October 6th 12:45 AM
http://www.shakugan.com/
A shounen action series. Looks pretty cool.

Aria - October 6th 1:30 AM
http://www.ariacompany.net/index2.htm
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5504
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=3597
Slice of Life on future Mars. The first episode had a very laidback atmosphere to it and rowing a godola took up much of the time.

Immortal Grand Prix - October 6th 2:30 AM - 26 episodes
http://www.igpx.jp/
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5862
Looks like CG battle suit racing in the future going at 400km per hour.

Beet the Vandel Buster (??new series/season) - October 6th 6:30 PM
http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/tv/beet/

Black Cat - October 7th 1:25 AM
http://www.tbs.co.jp/anime/blackcat/
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5245
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=3070
Bounty Hunters. Gonzo involved anime.

Mai Otome - October 7th 1:30 AM
http://www.my-zhime.net/
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5378
Similar themes to Mai Hime will remain in it. I can't see this as having as much of a dramatic middle section though.

Solty Rei - October 7th 2:40 AM
http://www.solty.net/
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5051
Bounty hunter guy and a girl with mysterious powers.

Blood+ - October 8th 6:00 PM - ANN lists this as 52 episodes (true or not?)
http://www.blood.tv/
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5088
Prequel to "Blood the Last Vampire". Sounds kind of cool.

Lamune - October 9th 1:00 AM - 12 episodes
http://www.lamune.jp/
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5868
Okay here's the third ren'ai gaming anime I was trying to think the name of. But I don't know anything about this one.

Ginban Kaleidoscope - October 9th 2:50 AM
http://www.sonymusic.co.jp/Animation/ginban/
It's about a female skater and a Canadian ghost guy haunting the inside of her head. This was originally a shounen novel. Later it was turned into a shoujo manga. This anime appears influenced a lot more by the shoujo manga.

Noein - Mou Hitori no Kimi e - ??October 12th 1:30 AM
http://www.noein.jp/
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5887
No idea. I'm not too crazy about that artstyle though.

Paradise Kiss - October 14th 12:35 AM
http://parakiss.tv/_pkiss/
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5081
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=1569
Shoujo anime.

Rozen Maiden - Träumend - October 21st 1:55 AM - 13 episodes
http://www.tbs.co.jp/rozen-maiden/
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5087
I'm looking forward to this sequel.

Mushishi - October 23rd 3:50 AM
http://www.mushishi.jp/
Well...there's a guy sitting there. What does it mean? :^^:

Karin - November 4th 12:00 AM
http://www.wowow.co.jp/anime/karin/
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... hp?id=5431
This is about a 15 year old "defective" vampire girl named Karin. Her disorder is that she produces an excess of blood one day a month and on that day must "donate" it to someone. The result of her neck bite to someone is that the "victim" ends up feeling refreshed. A boy in her class learns her secret and fun ensues. This is mainly a comedy, but I like the serious core to this story. By the sixth manga the story becomes pretty dramatic and I'm looking forward to seeing those scenes translated.

Do you notice that nearly all of these anime air late at night? More so than last season.

If anyone has anything to add about these shows I'd be interested to hear. :)

Comprehensive and informative as always Keropi ;)

Based on that month's releases I'd gladly avoid ALL of them except 'Fight God of beauty Takeshi Dragon' which looks great- that manga art is first-class, I'm so happy to see characters that aren't built like stick figures. Which leads me to Blood...
Ah, I was excited to read about that prequel BUT I feel it's been butchered as the artwork looks poor. When a great looking anime deviates so much from the original I find it offensive. If I like an anime, I want to see more of the same not another director's interpretation who changes it all thinking he's cleaver. Sorry for the rant.
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me;
"Smile and be happy, things could be worse".
So I smiled and was happy
and behold;
things did get worse...

Dang, looking at the Gunparade Orchestra it won't continue with the original characters. T_T Maybe they'll be cameos... =)

I know that Solty Rei has Range Murata on it, but seems they are going away from his character designs. Was looking forward to see this one, but now not too sure.

I thought it was strange that Moon Phase listed the first episode of Blood+ as starting at 6:00PM at night. I know certain stations DO air violent programs, but out of all the anime listed for Oct 2005 except for "Hell Girl" I'm surprised that Blood+ would be one of the few airing early at night. :puzzled It may not be very violent or maybe it's censored (I hope not).

Hmm...that's interesting. So "Gunparade Orchestra" must be based off a "separate sequel" game instead of a "direct sequel" game eh?

And.. a Paradise Kiss anime too! Yay! I really liked the manga. :yay

These two are definitely on my watch list.

Thanks for the info, Keropi! :)

Ooh, I like the Animal Yokocho manga. It's cute! I hope I get to see the anime eventually! It's a Ribbon manga - cute stories, many of which standalone. Basically, a little girl (kindergarten I think) lives with three cute animals - an angry bear, a very cute panda, and a rabbit. It's all about the cute. :bny

Hector the Collector loved these things with all his soul,
Loved them more than shining diamonds, loved them more than glistenin' gold.
Hector called to all the people,"Come and share my treasure trunk!"
And all the silly sightless people came and looked...and called it junk.

I was reading the first two volumes of the Karin manga today and I got a bit hooked on it since I kept reading it was wondering what was going to happen next and when the secret would come out. I thought...so far...at its heart, it's a rather cute story.

Then I went to check out Karin's TV website again and was suprised by how the characters looked. They are much simpler drawn than the manga and the way they look in color doesn't match how I pictured them in my head.

I rarely read manga, but this made me think that this feeling I have must be what manga readers/gamers go through all the time when they see their manga/game get adapted into an anime? Hmm? :?

Same here. :D

But they'll have to do it right because otherwise you'll just have "another bounty hunters " show.

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

I searched out this post so I could see when each of the new shows are starting and who is subbing what. I thought I'd add this post to remind everyone that it is now October, which means the new season is starting! (Yahhh!)

I myself am hoping that Hell Girl, Black Cat, and Blood + are good. My daughter really wants to see Cluster Edge. (Cute Boys!!!)

I'm most looking forward to seeing Rozen Maiden - Träumend and Karin. Based off the studio doing the animation for Karin though I am pessimistic about the animation quality. There's a serious story at it's core (when they finally get to it) and the story gets very emotional in manga volume six. I really love that kind of emotional confrontational stuff.

Also looking forward to To Heart 2, Canvas 2, and Blood+, but I know a lot less about those three. I might like Ramune. I doubt I'll like Fighting Beauty Wulong in the long run, but I'll watch at least one more episode of it. Hell Girl doesn't seem to be my type of thing, but it still looks worth watching. Shakugan no Shana along with a lot of the others are Wild Cards. I MAY like Mai Otome.

I'm looking forward to this new season. Out of the last July 2005 anime season I only seriously ended up liking Ichigo Mashimaro, Shuffle! and Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan (which technically was an OVA). The others I stopped watching. I'd like to get back to a few of those shows, but then again I always say that about past shows. :D
