Ebay Store - is it worth going that route?

Post by hobbywhelmed »

I notice ebay has multiple grades of stores. The cheapest has no monthly charge, while the next up has a fee of $49 a month. I stopped checking there, although there's one even "higher".

Has anyone here tried having a store? I think Goldknight, was it, that opened one. Do things sell in a month or two, or does the inventory just keep enlarging? The last time I tried a store was several years ago, for mixed (not just anime) items, and nothing sold at all, but I notice they more highly tout the stores now - but that might just apply to the "paying" stores (monthly charge).

A guy I know who runs a side bonsai business through ebay, says he only does a couple of auctions, to steer people towards his store (where a 30-day listing is cheaper than a regular auction), but he's doing that as a full-time business, not just selling bits of a collection.

I opened a store for $15.99 a month on a special they ran and the listing fee is only like 3 cents for an item listed until it ends so its easier on the wallet to me instead of paying $5 for something that may or may not sell and then again to relist it.
Ive sold a good deal of stuff through it.
