Thanks Maiko. :) I have been under that assumption for some time as well.
The reason I'm questioning it now.. is that I recently acquired a cel that I located in episode 134. :puzzled Now, I know some series reuse action shots; but the character is holding something that I believe is specific to that episode. So now I'm confused. :shrug

If you post an image of the cel, then perhaps one of us IY collectors/experts might be able to offer an explanation ^_^x

I can't remember exactly where in the series I have seen that cel appear before, but I have noticed that a lot of the 1 hour "Inu Yasha" special episodes re-use cel animation and just alter their appearance using CG in the new episodes. They reused a lot of cel animation in the 1 hour special about Inu Yasha and Kikyou's past, and then slightly tweaked things for their purposes- an example that really stands out to me is the Shikon no Tama from the first episode, reusing the original cels of it glittering on it's stand as it sits in the shrine. In the special, they re-used that same scene with the cel animation, but added a CG effect of black shouki starting to swirl inside the Shikon no Tama, showing that it was becoming tainted/corrupted.

Actually, I just noticed in your cel that Sesshoumaru is actually wielding Tessaiga, and there are very, very few times in the anime where he does so. In fact, the only one that really comes to mind ( if you disclude Movie 3, where he unsheaths it from Inu Yasha while fighting him ), is episode 19, when Sesshoumaru uses a human arm to be able to swing Tessaiga. But the human arm replaced his left arm- and in your cel, Sesshoumaru is using his right arm.

Now I'm really stumped.

Isn't "The Woman who Loved Sesshoumaru" one of the movies/one hour special and not an episode of the tv series?

"The Woman who Loved Sesshoumaru" was indeed a 1 hour special, but was also integrated into the series, and shown on schedule on Japanese tv, and is catalogued as Inu Yasha episodes "133 and 134". There were 2 other 1 hour specials that fell into the Inu Yasha timeline, episodes "147/148", which was about Inu Yasha and his past with Kikyou, and episodes "166/167", which ended the television series ( ended it more or less, that is ).

Even though they are still considered part of the series, in Japan, at least, they were released seperately on their own special DVD volumes. I have the original Japanese discs of all 3 of the 1 hour specials. Altho the specials were given episode numbers, the DVD volumes have no number, almost like they are being counted out of the Inu Yasha DVD series. The typical Inu Yasha DVDs for the series are numbered on their spines and on the front cover according to their Season and their Volume ( Like, Season 3, Volume 8 for instance ), but the DVD versions of the specials aren't catalogued like that at all, despite being given episode numbers.

Actually, Inuyasha went CG with episode 99. I've been involved in at least 2 threads here on beta regarding this. No one has ever seen any cels of Kouga and Sesshomaru together from episode 99. I would however love to be corrected on that as I would love to have one of those cels. :)

I originally wrote in my gallery ( and it's still there ) that it went CG with episode #99. But so many people with too much time on their hands used to email me and tell me I was wrong- it was episode 100. So I just about altogether stopped claiming it to be 99 and up.

LOL- now I feel much better. Hee hee- I've really been right all these years! ^_^x And if anyone ever disagrees with me again, I can say, "Yeah, well, Duotrouble says so, too!" :P

RATS! And here I thought you were going to point me in the direction of a Sesshomaru and Kouga cel.

Maybe we'll get extremely lucky and have been wrong all this time- and then all of a sudden those cels will pop up for you ^_^x
