Child villians in anime/video games...

Post by sletia »

Here's who I've thought of, anyone think of others? Evil children are just too cool - especially if they're a main villian and can kick the butts of the heroes.

Phibrizzo- Slayers Next
Mithos- Tales of Symphonia
Ascot- Rayearth
Wen- Cowboy Bebop
Janus (kind of)- Chrono Trigger
Ayako- Galaxy Fruelian Yuna

There were a few in Sailor Moon, too, I think?

I'm really having difficulty coming up with a list of them. I guess I don't watch as much fighting/action anime so I can't remember them.

The characters I'm thinking of were either:

1. Not really children because they weren't really human. They just looked like a child or a subhuman adult or they took on human form.

2. They were "temporarily" possessed children and I'm having difficulty recalling those short scenes.

3. ...or of course, they're too old. :P

The only child villain I can think of right now is Rin from "Please Save My Earth". I liked him as a villain. He was really pissed, but I felt sorry for the guy. In his situation I would be pissed too. :kaioken

This sounds like a fun list to compile. I hope Beta members are able to come up with others.

Personally...my favorite anime/game villains are Middle School or High School girls that are:

1. Cute, nasty and scary at the same time (but not because they're playing up for comedy).
2. Intelligently conniving and back stabbing (such as that main girl in Kussetsu). She was real good. :evilblk

Wen was the first thing that came to my mind also.

But also from the Bebop universe we can't forget Pierrot Le Fou, he had the mind of a child. The innocense of a child is the most cruel.

Tetsuo from Akira. The movie is different from the comic and Tetsuo isn't
really a villain in the traditional sense. But his tragic past and problems
with being a social outcast led to his rage. Very sad. He's a teenager, but
a lot of the issues revolve around his child-like immaturity.

OoOo. 8O There was this fascinating article I read about the scarcity of children in the aging Japanese society, and the lack of frequent contact between most Japanese and children, leading to feelings of alienation toward children in the general populous and demonization of them in the media.

But I CAN”T FIND IT!!! :x

I think it came out around the same time as Ringu……… /hmm

I’ll keep looking…….

Technically, Phibrizzo wasn't a kid - he simply took the form of one to trick people (although, what kid dresses like THAT? ).

I don't know if this counts, but Silky (from Tenshi ni Narumon) was a young teen, like Noelle, and was deceptively evil (well, not totally evil, but she wasn't going to win any niceness awards).

Colonel MacDonald from Spriggan. He needed an ass-whupping badly.

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

The villian in the "form" of a child works as well. That's why I put Phibby in.

Al and his brother from Project ARMS, and Tabool from Now and Then, Here and There. Both of those anime are almost all about kids.

In Gilgamesh the "Gilgamesh" are teens when in human form.

I have to try to remember the names of the kids from Genshiken. You know the ones who give the club grief.

"Little Slugger" from Paranoia Agent was or wasn't.

Let's see /hmm Yu Yu Hakusho had a couple of kid villains (though I suppose neither were really bad :P ) Rinku and Gamemaster come to mind.
My favorite child villain was probably more teenager -ish she looked like a kid though does that count? Rio from Spiral (another who wasn't a villain very long) she was scary what with her stuffed animal bombs, and she was about half the size of any other character :hitting:
