Question Regarding Cel Backings? Any good?

Just recently I have gotten into the purchasing cels/sketches (genga etc) and my question is should I get Cel Backings? Are they really needed? What I plan to do is order an ITOYA Art Profolio Storage/Display Book + as well as getting some cel bags on eBay. My question is should I attain cel backings for my cels and if so what benefits (if long term) do they offer.

The best would be to have no bags and just have acid free paper between your cels!

I don't use cel backings since I make sure they won't bend anyways...
