"Gaijin" characteristics in anime

Post by sugarcels »

I'm trying to compile a list of how gaijin are portrayed for a webpage I'm working on. Any ideas you can give me are great :D

What I have so far:

-If a Japanese character has blonde hair, the gaijin's blonde hair will be a different shade
-Even though English is his native language (usually) he will be unable to pronounce things properly and burst into random phrases such as "Oh my god!" and "Yes!"
-Though the show may have aliens, robots, monsters, or some other odd creature, the gaijin will ALWAYS be stranger than them
-They have a thing for roses

1. Middle aged gaijin are more likely to be overweight than your average middle age Japanese native born.

2. Gaijin's are more likely to be seen flipping people off. :D

3. If anime Gaijin are half-Japanese and half-European, they are much more likely than in real-life to have blonde or reddish colored hair. :^^:

4. Gaijin in anime are often seen talking very loudly.
