At one point I saw some very ornate large brushes on a pedestal so I asked him if those were kanji brushes, he got a surprised look on his face and asked how I knew that word. I told him that I've been interested in Japanese culture since 7th grade. My son's cute factor was quickly deteriorating at that point, so I decided it would be best to take him home and bring Marie back with me ASAP!
I went back with Marie 2 days later and he remembered my name and my son's name (Keith), I introduced him to my wife and let her walk about while I stayed by the front counter with the guy's wife (who speaks english) and her friend (who did not speak english). My tattoos were showing that day and she read them to me, she knew right away that Kieth's name was his and the other one belonged to my wife. Kieth was thirsty and asked for water (politely) when he was done I told him to say "domo arigato", after some coaxing we got him to say domo, then I told him to say "mehongoga wakarimaska" (speeld wrong I'm sure) and the two ladies erupted in happy chatter clapping their hands.

I asked the guy for a job on the spot, I knew he lived in Japan and his warehouse was here in California, surely he needs someone on the ground here right? Well he was quite happy with me asking and I'll start working for him in July when he returns

I'm so excited
