I just finished watching the 1st season of Code Geass. This would be my 2nd time watching it, with the first time thinking that the anime ended at episode 23 not knowing there was still an episode 24 + 25 and also a 2nd season.

For some reason, I didn't feel the full impact of the story the first time watching it, but I really felt the drama of the climax in the final episodes.
It's like, Woah, woah , woah, woah. The anime was just so intense.
They were so close to making a peaceful resolution with Euphemeria's proposal of Nippon. Who would've ever guessed that Lelouch's geass would go out of control at that exact moment.
In many ways, I see some story resemblances to The Dark Knight movie.
Euphemeria was kind of like the White Knight, one of the few hopes for a peaceful society. But everything went wrong thanks to the stupid geass making her kill the 11's. It made everyone think that the whole thing about peace was a trap to lure in the japanese. The one person who wanted a peaceful resolution to conflict will only be remembered in history as the person who has tricked the japanese people and started the massacre.
It's very freaking sad, tragic, and depressing. The white knight becomes the dark knight. Everything is screwed up now.

I wonder how things will go in the 2nd season. I can finally start watching now because it looks like it's almost done.
I enjoyed this anime more than gundam, surprisingly. I am a huge fan now, and just set myself back a bit by buying a Kallen Stadfeld pvc figure.
