stuff at your work that angers you >_<

Post by moonrabitt »

Rant about your job here....you don't have to be specific...just get stuff off your chest......
------------------------------------

I work two jobs....>_< (pay is not that good, but hopefully I'll move to greener pastures during January ^_^

One job is "super special awesome" but it's only for a month...(at a theme park, and involves scaring people XD) - Just for October....
the other one is a part time job that sucks big time.....I've been there for like 3 months....and it involves being a cashier.....

--------------------
In the first job the people are AWESOME! Super nice, love the job, even though the pay is low, and we get all the free Soda we want ^_^, Plus scaring the heck out of people....
THE BAD: Some of the customers are @sses....(but hey all jobs have them) I'll get people that I try to scare that will do one of the following:
1). Say "She is there" or "I see you" and just spoils it for the rest of the guests, I hate these people the most since they RUIN the whole experience for no freaking reason....
2).People that TOUCH me...I HATE that..But it only happened a few times..
3).People that call be a "B*tch" or "MIDGET" I find that insulting and demeaning, because I'm not a midget....Not legally, sure I'm short but not that short.....
4). People who say "Stop scaring me" or "Stop scaring her/him/my friend" IF you go to a scary place, then don't B*tch about getting scared.....
5).People that walk in to prove that nothing scares them, these people will walk trough the maze, non-nonchalantly....and when you try to scare them they look at you like if you where trash....
6). People who say "SCARE ME!!!"
---------------------------
I plan to leave Job #2 In a very short while because I HATE IT....The people are "meh" not nice, not good and some of the people in charge are just Mean as heck. I was told that I would be fired, but turns out that it was the fault of someone higher up and not mine, but no one apologized to me....One manager tells me one thing, another tells me something else, and both get pissed if I follow the other...HONESTLY WTF??????
--------------------------------
And So I'll be looking for a new job soon, since I think I deserve better  and who knows...Maybe I'll find a job where people are not so messed up....So anyone else want to vent????

I hate my job, I want to find a new one, but finding one that starts out still pays the bills is easier said than done around here. :(
  • Long hours (12 hrs) working the night shift
  • always- sore sometimes hardly able to walk when I get home (a not fully healed dislocated hip doesn't help that >_<)
  • I'm the team "whipping boy" meaning that is something goes wrong or pisses someone off... if I happen to be around, I get yelled at... my boss has come to find me just to yell at me for something utterly nonsensical.
  • My boss is just an all around asshat.
  • A lot of the people I work with are self-centered asshats too
  • The general social feel is like high school... he said she said, petty bs... i serious wish people could just grow up. There is no reason for adult (30-50yr olds) to be acting and having the social maturity of a high school student. To be honest there are some high school students I'm insulting. I've talked with 15/16yr olds with higher maturity levels than the people I work with. *groan*
Just getting off a crappy day doesnt help my feelings towards this at all. Aaaaah, but the ranting felt good. LOL.

Sorry to hear that. I love my job. I wake up every morning ready to go. I think I've taken three sick days since I started five years ago. I like teaching, and I like the school I work at.

Now, I have had some crappy jobs in the past. Working at a library sucked. Working in the stacks is like emptying the ocean at teaspoon at a time.
Time is but an illusion. Lunch time...doubly so.

I think it's amazing how jobs and People's BS can transform people...
I Used to:Love helping people, I was nice, and if someone was sick ,I would not mind staying extra time....Now they abuse it (a month later) and now I want to leave there and get the F' Out of there....I also notice that I'm 100% more irritated then usual :?

HotIceThat many hours? 0_o I don't think I could take that everyday....I work about 14 hours, but on Sat and Sun only (since I work both jobs on those days) Sad to hear that you are the whipping boy, I used to be the whipping boy too at "A magical place on earth" with a Mother'fing mouse..you know the place...I quit after enough crap....Happy my @ss....I know how angry you must feel when people can't accept that it's their own fault and they should not blame other people.....
The people sound horrible..I hope you find something better ^_^

blueheavenThat sounds so nice, Maybe I should be a teacher too....working at a library sounds bad.....a teaspoon? 0_o

ShampooDude....I smell LAWSUIT....How many violations have those SOBS broken? I'm surprised you have not snapped....You should really get out of there, that sounds horrible..and I can't imagine going through that every day....
Ive been looking since Jan, but there is just squat out there right now. I feel completely trapped. Ive already saved to move, I just need the word and I'm out of here. But till then, Im trying my damndest to keep on going and retain what lil self, and sanity I've got left.
I know....SQUAT...:l ...The only reason I'm in my sucky job is because I can't find anything else!!!!! What is the point of going to school if you can't use your degree to get a good job....I hope I can join the High Way patrol next year ^0^.....Don't worry Shampoo.....one day you will get your revenge....You will SLAP whoever touches you and say DON'T Touch me!!!!!!
-For everyone who has a sucky job....Let's hope for a better job next year ^^

I can empathize with you guys.

I used to have a horrible feeling in my stomach every day going into work. I was an Accounts Payable clerk (owed people money. Had people yelling at me every day for their money. Etc....) I did that for a year and left.

I found I had an interest and aptitude for computer work. I currently work as a network admin and I absolutely love my job now. Part of that is what I do. Another part is the people I work with. I'm very thankful and am going to enjoy it while it lasts. I think if I had to choose between the 2 (what I do as opposed to work environment), I'd choose the good people to work with as a bad environment can be cancerous. Sometimes you have to work in a bad environment though to appreciate the good ones.

Although I've met people who didn't get a degree who are brilliant and some who've received degrees who are dumb as rocks, the degree is good for teaching people (possibly) how to manage your time, meet your deadlines, gets your foot in the door, and can possibly factor in how much you will be paid. I didn't see that while I was going to school nor did I years after but I do see that now. You may never use your degree either but you may be able to fall back on it if things get rough. I got mine in Accounting. Now I'm a computer guy. Go figure. Good luck to all of you looking for work right now. Hang in there. It will happen.

I don't talk about my job online but I will say I love it. :) I used to have a job that I didn't like so I can sympathize you all who don't like their jobs. It definitely means you need to get a new job. Going from a job I didn't care for to my current position, I've destressed, lost 30lbs without dieting or exercising and have had many people comment about me glowing or floating all the time. In fact, I was even asked if I got married because no one should be that happy at work. :^^: I used to get sick frequently. I've called out twice in the 1 1/2 years in my current position.

I recommend for those of you still suffering to get out when you can. I know it's easier said than done. Good luck! 8)

I've actually found a copy of the sensitivity training video that is used where Shampoo works. I think you will see just how far they go in order to make sure women in the workplace are treated with the respect they deserve.

I love the job, the mechanics and principles and what I do. I'm very good at my field. Lately however, I have come to question the people but that's what happens when people are insecure about things around them (aka bad economy).

What I hate the most? Having to continously fight (mostly senior people than myself, go figure) about what should be done to keep being professional, appropriate and honest. It's exhausting and puts me in an awkward position but it has to be done. I'm guess I'm good at it since I've not been fired yet. Someday I would like to find a less stressful job that doesn't have to do with that kind of BS. You can say I do a lot of "dirty work" and take on the role of the "bad guy".

So in a way I can't give an accurate answer to your poll.

i can attest to that! X|
and it NEVER ends! :l
but really i dont mind that so much.
its my boss thats the problem with my job. :x

she's seriously like a teenager. acts like that popular high and mighty cheerleader that you just cant stand.

what's good for her is never good for me. when im off she treats me like crap when i come back because she's mad that i was off (which i couldnt help... i had shingles - a form of communicable chicken pox.. and i couldnt go to work, i had a doctors note. then i got laringitus and a cold and i had to be off one more day to get rid of that.
she really does need me but she's never grateful for my help (yeah i know its my job and all but 'cmon, one thank you in a year would kill you?).

part of the reason that she's always on me i know is because she's worried about her job (there are going to be many many jobs cut soon and she might have to go back to the class room where she hates). but the other part is just unneccesary.
:x

but i know i should feel grateful that i have a job.
my good friend was laid off in july and she got a new job at the beginning of this month and she is laid off AGAIN! oh man. these are scary times.
well anyways, thanks for listening to me rant.

that felt good. :D lol
