What is your "go to DVD?"

Post by blueheaven »

My cable box crapped out on me, so I have to deal without TV until Saturday. Now, I know many of you will say, "Who cares? I don't watch TV anyway." That's fine, but I am not interested in hearing from those people. What I would like to know is, when there is nothing on TV and you need an entertainment fix, what is your Go To DVD? What is the film/anime/etc. that you can always count on to keep you happy?

For me, it is The Boondock Saints. I can always pop that in and be entertained no matter what mood I am in. So, how about you?
Time is but an illusion. Lunch time...doubly so.

Hmm...for me that'd probably be "Once Upon a Time in the West". That movie always cracks me up and puts me in a nice mood.

As far as anime goes...probably "Macross: Do You Remember Love". Lots of sentimental memories to go along with good music there. :)

I have always been entertained by the Indiana Jones movies... but a more recent triliogy that I've been going to is LOTR.

Anime wise, I always enjoy watching Ghost in the Shell and Spirited Away.

Mine are The Shawshank Redemption and The Full Monty. Probably something to do with their glaring similarities. :^^:

The Last Samurai or The Patriot, both are very well worn "go tos", as for anime my "go to" would be probably Spirited Away.

Movie movies - Team America and Mars Attacks, and pretty much any movie from the "100 Top B Sci Fi films" collection. I still haven't figured out what Starman/Super Giant's powers are....

Anime - Sailormoon when I'm in a good mood, Jigoku Shoujo for when I'm in a bad mood.

Swingers

Many of the before mentioned movies were once on my go to list. Today it's the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead. It's the premise of the whole world going to Hell with small moments of comic relief throughout the entire movie that makes me smile. The soundtrack is of the same caliber.

Do I really need to mention my go to Anime? The series or the movie works well for me.
