I Got One!!!!!!

If any of you are fans of The Lord of the Rings, are you familiar with Sideshow Collectibles? They are the most amazingly detailed figures in the world. Most are polystone, all are limited editions. Once they're gone, you'll be lucky if you can find one on eBay.

Today there was a 1-hour window to pre-order one of only 300 specially made dioramas, available only for ComicCon. Attendees got first choice yesterday. Non-attendees had a chance to pre-order for ONE HOUR ONLY one of about 30 of those 300. The diorama was Sam carrying Frodo up to Mount Doom.

My son got on the computer at 12:45 p.m., flexed his fingers, and at 1 p.m., he got ready to order. He ordered, he went to checkout, then got an error. He tried again, but it said he could only order one. So he wasn't sure if it had gone through.

When I got home, I checked my order history, AND THERE IT WAS!!! I GOT ONE!!!!

Congrats! Sideshow really does some amazing work. They are somewhat expensive, but totally worth it.

Neat thing about this one... it was 1/3 of the price of their stuff. Luckily I don't have to pay for it until it ships, which is the middle of July. And with only 300 available and now SOLD OUT, it's extremely rare.

I have a Gandalf the Gray battling the Balrog on Flexpay Wait List. It's a long shot ... who knows how long the wait list is, and if anyone will ever bail out on their order. Sigh. I can't afford these things, but I wanted those 2 desperately.

Sideshow is a great company to deal with on the preorder front. They are almost my go-to folks for comic statues (seeing as I purchased the blood elf/draeni diorama from world of warcraft, the premium mystique, and of course the awesome Tick statue from them-and have the new jean grey statue on preorder

. I've never had a problem, and everything has always been very well packed.

Big congrats on scoring the frodo/sam! They do an amazing job on LOTR stuff!

That Tick statue is pretty cool looking. I got my Tooned Up Vengeance Willow (Buffy) from them, and I have pre-ordered Tooned Up Dark Willow. Cannot wait to get it!

I absolutely love this company. Everything that I have gotten has been perfect! Especially my Ironman 1:1 bust. It's AWESOME!!

The Tick! How awesome is that?! I'm also lusting after the Duel of Fates diorama with Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon and Darth Maul. Alas, that one will have to forever remain a dream. Take a look:

Wow! I'm really jealous! I love Mt Doom Frodo (I've even cosplayed him).

This statue is perfect. I wish I'd known about it. Guess I'll have to pay through the roof now.
