The new Paypal "personal" option

Post by ReiTheJelly »

When sending money, if you use the new PERSONAL tab for payments, the recipient does not get charged a fee as long as the money is coming from a bank account or Paypal balance. This is for U.S. transactions only --- sorry international folks.

For people who are having trouble finding the tab, here is a screencap with the tab highlighted.

Users outside the US have the option to pay the recipient's fees for a personal payment. ;)

Yes, it took me quite a while of digging to find this one... With a big thanks to Christina here on this forum who helped me test it out. ^_^ I think Paypal doesn't want people to notice this. LOL

So we should use this option more often, then? :P

Btw- I'm getting leary about them again, I attempted to use my PayPal Business debit for an ad purchase so I can sell an elliptical that's collecting dust in my home. (So, if you live near Memphis, TN area and want one-- email me. )

They denied the transaction, marked it as fraudulent, and my ad was canceled and I had to reorder it when I called the newspaper. Despite the fact I use it frequently and never had any problems, the CS person stated that they have the right to deny any transaction when using the card even though it has back-up funding from my bank account and whether or not I have funds loaded on the card (which I never do.) The CS person was also very condescending and rudely insinuating that I should always have funds loaded onto the card. I thought they wanted you to use the damn card a lot due to that 10% cash back reward you get when you use it as a debit--- what the heck??

In future transactions, I know I'll be asking people to pay using this. Hopefully, it will stay as an option on PayPal. :^^:
