Voltron question
Due to a long discussion I had with GardianOfGood in the past about the impact of Voltron on US audience, I'm strongly interested by pictures of this TV series and think that this item can possibly be a valid art for exhibition:
http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auc_e/item ... 4813000061
But I'm quite lost with the US broadcast procedure to buy in bulk cut in piece and recreate another anime story guideline (Robotech, G Force...) consequently Daltanius broadcast in the US consider as a valid and representative Voltron or do I have to focus on Go-Lion one ?
Thanks for US citizens comments about this local taste.

Don't forget Dairugger XV. World Events used both Go Lion and Dairugger XV for the Voltron series. With the new DVD release, more Voltron fans are appreciating the unfairly maligned Vehicle Voltron.yoshito wrote:Daltanius was never shown here in the US as "Voltron" so buying that would not mean anything to Voltron fans in the US. The only Voltron people know of is the Golion version if anything, even then it was a pretty small fan base.
I think the reason Voltron fans aren't more familiar with Daltanius is that it was never made into a toy, unlike Albegas, which was called Voltron II "Gladiator Robot". Voltron fans are certainly familiar with Albegas, there's a a few clips of it on the Voltron.com site.

To give you a little history on Daltanius' relation to the "Voltron" series... Basically the US distributors was asking the Japanese studio to send "the one with the Lion". The one they reviewed and was going to air was Daltanius (which had "sentient" 1 lion part) however, the Japanese studio made a mistake and thought "the one with the Lions" and so got "Go-Lion" which was re-packaged as Voltron in US. Due to the initial success US imported another mecha series which had nothing to do with "Go-Lion" but wanted the combining into giant robot, so they brought over "Dairugger" which were made out of vehicles but marketed as still part of the "voltron" universe. In essence none of these shows were really related to each other at all. Just an FYI.

Howdy y'all
I do recall watching a cross over between Go-lion and Dairugger. And sure enough there was. In order to introduce Dairugger to the american audience. They made this crossover event. The movie was utter garbage but since as a kid (and even now) I'm still a HUGE Voltron fan boy (had underoos and everything as well as trying to register the domain www.Iheartvoltron.com). I watched every moment of that atrocious cross over "event".

On a side note in, retrospect I believe that shows like Voltron and Power rangers actually led to the outbreak of the gang mentality using subliminal messages.
Think about it, as a young robotic lion cub, you pick a fight with a big ol' robeast. What happens? You get your metallic teeth kicked in. However, If you get four of your friends to join you and gang up on the poor robeast what happens? Poor robeast sent to the infirmary with injuries afflicted by your blazing sword.
They call it "team work" I call it gang warfare.
