Washington Mutual screws you!

Post by Not Sir Phobos »

In current news Wamu installed a new update to their automatic billpay system that caused the system to crash, for two weeks. That means that people's billpay was not functioning for two weeks at the end of July to the beginning of August. What that means to the customer is that bills were not paid, causing late fees for many people.

Now here is the kicker: Wamu is NOT reimbursing customers for their late fees or any other related costs involved.

Wamu caused the crash and they are not taking responsibility for their actions. Let me ask you, is that the kind of bank you want to do business with?

I am joining the boycott of Washington Mutual. Who is with me?

Wait, they're not reimbursing their customers for losses THEY caused? Did they notify the customers ahead of time that it wasn't working so they could make other arrangements?

If not, someone should suuuuuuuue.

It wasn't a planned event, their system crashed. So no.

the FDIC has recommended to them that they reimburse their customers but are not forcing them do do so. So they are not.

I've been boycotting WAMU for years now after they screwed up our mortgage and our credit rating and refused to take responsibility for any of it.

I miss those medium sized banks that used to exist twenty five years ago. You had a lot more competition and choice on where to do your banking. There aren't very many banks left anymore. In Los Angeles, banks are either very large and have little incentive to offer good service anymore (I'm getting 0.10% interest rate at Wells Fargo which is a joke) or they're very small and have very few branches around my area.

The larger companies get, the more the higher ups tend to get disconnected from their individual customer base. I miss Crocker Bank, Great Western and Glendale Federal. I knew it was only a matter of time before Glen Fed would get taken over because they were the only good medium sized bank left in my area. :(

Anti-Trust is useless nowadays. I joke with my dad that by the time I get old I'm going to be banking at World Bank and shopping at World-Mart. Maybe I'll have an implant in my forehead too by then. :^^:

What?

You don't have yours yet!

Must be a computer error in their implant program
