That's actually a reference to a sequence shown in the fan compilation music video "AMV Hell 3". There's a clip where it shows Wolfwood with the Jewish star and the Weird Al song "Pretty Fly For A Rabbi" is playing.

From one side of the huge convention hall: "Man-Faye! Man-Faye! Man-Faye!"
From the other side (a separate and seriously unrelated convention): "Je-sus! Je-sus! Je-sus!"
I'll NEVER forget it.
Mind you I make absolutely no judgments here about the relative merits of either side chanting at the moment. It was the juxtaposition that was too perfect for words...
