YGO movie DVD

Post by duotrouble »

I was happy to see that Yu-Gi-Oh! the Movie came out on DVD Tuesday. I went to the store today to see if it had the original Japanese version as a feature. It didn't. :( And it was full screen. :( Shouldn't this be available in widescreen since it aired in the theatres? Or am I just crazy? And does anyone know if the Japanese version will be released later like the tv series is being?
Can you hear this fangirl squee?!

I'm gonna get the movie too. I enjoyed watching it, hence the reason I want it :P

There is no Japanese version on it either because 4Kids didn't want it there or/and the Japanese version came out after the English version.

Maybe they were too lazy to put that feature in? haha

:crackup I bet they were too lazy! :crackup

As much as I want it, I'm going to hold off buying it. Probably waiting in vain for the widescreen version to show its face. I about dropped the DVD when I read modified to fit your tv screen. :wow: Gives me chills! I can't stand pan and scan.

Pan and scan?! What the heck does that mean?

Well, I just wanna see the movie again because there were scenes that I really enjoyed. Plus it comes with a YGO card so I must have it :P

But I probably won't get it till later on since I'm gonna get my mom to buy it (and I'll save my money for more sketches and cels lol)

Pan and scan is where the people making the DVD or VHS cut off some of the movie on the edges of the screen. Oh! I know I'm not explaining this right! X| Let's try this!

a movie = a rectangle

a tv = a square

In order to get a rectangle to fit in a square, you can do 1 of 2 things. Either you can compress the image causing everyone's faces to elongate (get longer) or you can scan the images to not include the edges. However, if the two main characters are standing side by side talking, they would pan the camera over to get the person talking completely on film.

I hope some of that made sense. :sweatdrop
