I switched over to Cartoon Network at 11:30, forgetting that it was Thursday and expecting Inuyasha. I didn't immediately recognize the anime, so I started watching it. Before I noticed, I got TOTALLY SUCKED IN to Full Metal Alchemist. And I LIKED it!!!! It's SO CUTE!!!!
Aw man, I can hear my bank account sobbing already. *sigh*
LOL I know the feeling, I like the show as well, I did the same thing a while ago I forgot it was thrusday and sit down to watch some Inuyasha, then realized FMA was coming on. I started to watching it, thinking i wouldnt like it at all. But little did I know I started to watch it.
But then I missed a few eps, over the hoildays and I havent watched it since.
"Look what I'm offering you-- your dreams I ask for so little. Just let me rule you, and you can have everything that you want. Just fear me, Love me, Do as I say, and I will be your slave"
I agree ... FMA is incredible. Although, I've not found it "cute". Some parts are ... like the relationship between Ed and Al. The bond between them is heartwarming and cute at the same time that it breaks your heart to remember how young they are and everything they have gone through. Typically, I've found it to be a stunning anime, in that it was so, so much deeper than I expected when I started watching it. There have been some episodes (like the chimera ones) that have brought me to tears.
So far, I don't like it in that "have to collect", starry-eyed way that some shows capture my heart. But, I definitely love it in that "gotta watch it all" way.
Um ... but, this is just my two cents ... for what it's worth. Which, admittedly, ain't all that much. *Sigh*
Hmmm, I'm sure this is why I don't watch long series. If there are more than 26 episodes in a series I'll often give it a miss- however good it might be. I know what I'm like, I often get into anime quite a bit and I'm a completest. Not having the time to watch every episode when it's broardcast is a real pest so it's my philosophy to just miss it all out. It really bugs me if I miss a single episode so if I don't start watching something I'm OK ^__^
The only time I see anime series is on DVD then I can do a 6-episode stint in one evening to catch up.
FMA and Inu Yasha are pretty popular especially with members on this board, but I'll be missing out on these. Still, it's cool having anime on TV- keep watching!
If you're wondering why I don't buy these on DVD, I have a backlog of DVDs and spend all my money now on artwork *hee hee*
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me;
"Smile and be happy, things could be worse".
So I smiled and was happy
and behold;
things did get worse...

Lucky you! *stares at her FMA gallery*
Yeah, I definitely wouldn't describe it as "cute" either. I would describe Ed that way but . . . *cough* Where was I? Oh, yeah! FMA runs the gauntlet of your emotions. There were several episodes I was crying my eyes out but plently others that I was laughing hysterically. You happened to be watching episode 9, a light-hearted episode. It was Ed's first official mission. I can see how you'd think it was cute.
It's a great series! I hope you continue on with it.
The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?
I know how you feel! A friend of mine got me to watch a few episodes of Naruto with him the other day... wow, it was awesome! I can't wait to see more...

They show FMA on Saturday night too. Actually, Thursday's show is a rebroadcasting of Saturday's show. So.. if you miss Saturday you can catch it on Thursday.
