Battle Angel Movie?

I was just listening to The View today and James Cameron was on... and he mentioned that he's going to shoot an action type movie called "Battle Angel" and I instantly thought of the anime series, even though I've never seen it. He said that the main characters is a female and that there are lots of robots in it... Do you think this COULD be a live-action film based off of the anime?

It is an adapation of the manga/anime series.
