The Anime Tattoo

I was actually suppose to get one
of chibi Shampoo w/ bubbles around her on my ankle
and the lil bubbles wrapping around like a bracelet

but when I got to the tattoo parlor and saw the needles and buzzing sound I freaked out and ran out the door w/ the money in my hand LOL!

Actually I'd love to get a couple tatoos, but my husband laid down the law years ago, and said he'd divorce me if I ever did. So... tatooless, but still married!!!

But I don't think I'd choose a anime character. You never know if you still like that character 10 years from now.
I'd probably go for something tribal or celtic or something.

I kind of wanted an Anime tattoo a few years ago, but was to cheap to get it done A nice DBZ dragon or something along those lines would have been kind of interesting

Now I don't think that is going to happen as me and my skin are already in kind of a perpetual coloring agument.

There really does need to be a maybe option. I really wouldn't do it unless you were absolutely sure it was something you were going to love forever and ever and even then I think getting a specific character might not be such a good idea. More often than not tastes change over time.

That being said though, I've been thinking for years about getting a pair of black wings tattooed on my back but, lately I've been thinking about getting one white and one black. Which definately could be the result of too much anime. (I.E. Kamui and world of elegance). I've also been highly considering one of the sleeping unicorn from the last unicorn but, that's more of childhood love and speaks more to my other hobby being collecting unicorns. But, since my desire wasn't a result of the anime involved, I'm not sure if those would count in the discussion.
For a straight from anime tattoo though I'd like to get one of sawa's earings from Kite (in fact i'm planning on it as soon as I figure out a good place to tattoo an earing) I have my own personal motives outside the anime for that though too.
So, I guess to wrap it up I think I'd be very unlikely to get an anime tattoo that I didn't realte to something deeper than the anime itself. I suppose like any tattoo it's a personal descision and only you can really decide what you want to live with.

I kind of like the idea of outlines of wings on my back. There's one particular picture of Kamui from X with that sort of tattoo, and I really love it, so... it's kind of anime? Though Hyde from L'arc~en~ciel and Davy Havoc from AFI both also have nifty wing tattoos.

Unfortunately, I'm too much of a wimp to get it done. I'm not a big fan of pain, and I hate sitting still for any length of time. ^^;

erm I had a Chibi Goku flying on his cloud done on the top of my right arm done about 8 or 9 years ago. DB was pretty unheard of at the time and I wanted to keep away from Celtic or tribal stuff cos they were really really trendy then.

I still really like it all these years later (even though its a little faded now).

I have two on my right arm but those are from my pre-anime days. Ive been wanting to get one of my fav character lain, but a couple things hold me back. What type of pose do i want of her, where do i want it, and by whom. The last thing i want is a tattoo of lain that looks like betty boop. Eww. I'll be the first to admit that im a whimp when it comes to those needle guns, both times i felt super woozy doing it. But id do it for agian for a nice lain. Plus id be super cool ... kinda.

In general I would say no... but it is the NERV symbol !
I would avoid a character at all cost... but I feel a symbol does have a lot more longevity.

hahaha That's too cool, Poe! I probably wouldn't have the guts to get ANY tattoo, but I've always liked Tenma's tattoo that he's got.. I'll have to post a pic of it....sometime.

My grandpa had a seventy-five year old, faded, drooping, wrinkled tatoo on his upper arm. It never really inspired me to get one of my own.
