There was only one thing I didn't like about it: They took Sesshoumaru out of character for a scene. He randomly attacks InuYasha at one point (their second "battle") and then just walks away insulting him. Sesshy isn't one to start something randomly. LinaLoN suggested that maybe it was just his anger and frustration at his half-brother and the whole third sword spiel, but yea. Other than that, it was a spiffy movie. ![]() And DAYUM does Sesshy look like his dad... o_o |

InuYasha Movie 3
Okay, I must say that, overall, this was the best Inu Yasha movie (of the 3). Number 2 was my second favorite.

I just went-off on this whole big thing in my head. . . Oh, getting philosophical about IY! It's funny!
ANYWAY, I think I agree with LinaLon. But then, I think you could look at it either way, depending on who you wanted to believe Sesshy is/was/whatever. I like to believe that he's the brooding, older-brother who wishes to make something of his half-demon little-bro, even though he goes about it in a fairly cruel way. But I have a theory on this too. . .laughs@self. Oh, I won't get into it right now! It could go for days.
*ahem*
But yeah, throw Sesshy's hair back in a ponytail and . . .voila! Ya got daddy. Oh, it was almost too much. . . the opening scene! Two!!! TWO!!! Two gorgeous dog type demons!!!
*calms self and wanders off*
It was a good movie except...Baakay wrote: I loved it. Except for the part at the VERY end, which didn't bother me at first but Kymaera convinced me was a little wrong....
I was surprised that they actually seemed to be doing a status quo change outside of the series by having the necklace not be on Inu Yasha any more. It could've been a good change of pace by Kagome not having the power over Inu Yasha that she did before. We saw a bit of that in the movie when he goes out of control a bit and doesn't listen to her any more, causing problems. So, I felt cheated at the end when she puts it back on him as it seemed a weak way to reset the status quo. However, if you think about it, it's not a reset of the status quo. It's one thing for Kagome to have done that to him when they were strangers and he had been attacking her. Now, they've shared many adventures and risked their lives for each other. She shouldn't need the necklace now. Inu Yasha would've felt betrayed by Kagome by her tricking him into putting it back on, seriously damaging their relationship, if not killing it all together. I mean, seriously, how would you feel if your significant other told you to pucker up, then slipped a choke chain around your neck? It's basically the same thing. Also, it makes Kagome seem petty and controlling as she feels that she must have that control over him. Though, you could also go into why Kagome hasn't removed the necklace from him anyways. (Aside from the obligatory knocking him unconscious by slamming him into the ground every time he makes a sarcastic remark comedy every episode or two) |

lmao, Kymaera! You just got me all wantin' to have a talk with Kagome! Too funny! I hadn't put that much thought into it myself, but I did kind of wence at the end when she did that. It was kind of a wistful moment of wanting everything to be "right" with Inuyasha and Kagome. But then it was an immediate, "That wouldn't be Inuyasha!" Most of the show revolves around Kagome and IY not being able to express their real feelings, the conflict they have, and that necklace is a hell of a tool for the writers to have around to express that conflict.kymaera wrote:It was a good movie except...Baakay wrote: I loved it. That's still putting too much thought into it though. I really do think it was "kept around" solely for the comic relief it provided everytime kagome says "sit."
I couldn't agree more. Bleh. That whole thing was so contrived that it detracted from what was otherwise a pretty good story.kymaera wrote: It was a good movie except...
Aside from Kagome's bizarre passive/aggressive resolution to the whole necklace issue, the thing shouldn't have come off in the first place. No amount of physical force is supposed to be able to remove it, right? Only specific magic. ![]() |

built up later that involves the necklace in some capacity, they could still do
it. I'm sure that they had a directive to do no lasting change to Inu Yasha
since the movies don't follow the manga. It's one of the continuing bad
points of the movies...you know that they don't matter.
That didn't bother me. There's always a stronger force out there that youMoop wrote:

could say was more powerful than the magic in it. All the characters have
some degree of magic power/magical weaponry, so it's not really a force-
only type of thing..it's force plus magic.
Well, the good thing is that the movies seems to be getting better.Moop wrote:Nah, still bothers me. No explanation given, and too darn convenient overall. As I said, it struck me as horribly contrived. I think
it was as geared toward appeasing fan desire as the kiss was in movie 2.
The first one was so mediocre that I can't recall anything about it.
The second one was pretty much forgettable as well except for the
above-mentioned piece of fan service.
The third one was actually decent and enjoyable to watch except for
the contrived ending which I've already ranted upon.
Hopefully, the next one will match the peak quality of the series instead of
matching the lowest quality points of the show.
