My son who lives in Florida is wanting me to send him some
new anime, and when I was searching, I came across these
3 titles. I have never seen any of these, so I know nothing
about them. Are they good? Will it be something a 20 year
old would like? Also, do you think he would like Chobits?
Decisions decisions!!
I loved both The Soultaker & Argento Soma. Soultaker is a little abstract in its art...and the storyline is rather dark, but I love that sort of stuff *slurp* And Argento Soma is just an awesome all-round series. Definitely worth the watch, in my book. I haven't seen Ai yori Aoshi... but isn't it slightly hentai? Not sure, I could be completely wrong......
Soultaker:
I never got around to finishing it. It was one of those anime that was done
so darkly that it got confusing trying to watch it, so I lost interest in it.
However, it did give us the hilarious Nurse Witch Komugi-chan spin-off
series, so it can't be all bad.
Ai Yori Aoshi:
Slightly ecchi (not hentai) series. Sort of a harem show, but the guy actually
makes a choice. Pretty decent comedic romance story.
Argento Soma:
Great opening. I liked the series and thought it had a lot of good moments.
Slightly let down by the ending, but not enough that I wouldn't recommend it.
It would probably help if we knew your son's tastes a bit. What else has he
liked/not liked? For example, if he's into action, he probably wouldn't like
Ai Yori Aoshi.
Soultaker is a very dark anime. It also can be very confusing. I never finished it either because I got so confused and just lost interest in it. I know a few other people who did the same.
Ai Yori Aoshi is adorable. The two main characters are engaged but they aren't allowed to tell anyone. Enter a slew of other girls to live at the same house all having crushes on the guy. It reminded me a lot of Tenchi.

Well, I ended up ordering him 7 sets, but I am still looking for
others. I ordered him the following, cause I think he will like
them for sure. So with these in mind will he like any of those.
Crest of the Stars
Hellsing
Record of Lodoss War
Witch Hunter Robin
Berserk
Ninja Scroll
Vision of Escanflowne

With those, I would say that Argento Soma and Soultaker are both
good series to add. Though, pretty much all you listed are action/drama
type series for the most part, so he may not be as big on Ai Yori Aoshi
since it's a romantic comedy.
hellsing
he will definitly like that one
still one of my favourites. escaflowne is a good one too

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?
Thanks Glorff - He has already seen FMP and loved it.
He had me order him another Mech Anime as well. It
is another one I have never heard of called Gasaraki.
Guess we will see how he likes it.
Gasaraki has the most realistic depiction of what a real mech would be like. It has a mistic side story that runs along with the action and the typical mistical girl plot line. He will probably like it.
Has he seen Saiuki yet? He would probably go for that. There is a second series and a movie too
