I know I started a thread on this in the "Anything" section but some people do not read "Anything" (that was not a pun, I swear) and I just want to get the word out about the Con happening in San Francisco this weekend.

For information we have a link under the original thread in the "anything" section.

Hope to see a few more people there

This forum is riddled w/ so much hypocrisy
it sickens me.
NSP in answer to your other thread, I really couldn't
care to accept your half assed apology.
I have at least 4 pm's from diff members all
feeling the same way I do about you as a member.
They don't choose to step forward due to cowardice or
friendship w/ your wife that's up to them. I don't care.
Im up to here w/ everything that's been going on for the
past month on this forum. Nt just you but all the different
flaming wars going on from general cel discussion to
ebay issues. And now realizing one of my best buds
feelings towards one member is shining thru. I am fed up.

Ive been seeing a lot of ppl's ugly sides, including my own.
And I hate it.
Until it all gets cleaned up Im out.

What is everyones problem with Not Sir Phobos? I didn't think he did anything wrong. All he was doing was trying to get everyone informed just in case anyone missed the last thread.

I for one missed the last thread. At first I was like wow, a con in San Fran, how nice of him to inform people....then crap starts flying at Not Sir Phobos. :box2: Did I miss something? Is there a hidden racist remark that he made....what?

If no one appreciated that he was just trying to give the heads up about the San Fran Con besides me...then I am going to have to say in the loudest voice I have......

I have a suspicion something not beta related may be going-on with someone in this forum that might have caused such a reaction. It IS a little much.

You know...I really must say something here...

This forum is starting to look more and more like Animanga!!!

The truth is, Beta is not the fun place it used to be.
When I first came here people were polite and respectful to each other! But lately I've been noticing a lot of flame wars, insulting and swearing in people's posts and I can't say it is doing this forum a lot of good.

Swearing and rude language, how covered up it may be to make it look like other words, is a sign of ignorance to me. The fact that Beta did not have much of that (not to say not at all), the high quality posts the members made and the fun we all had sharing this wonderful hobby was what made Beta such a great place to visit.

I totally agree with what Shampoo said in another post she made, I too have noticed people posting on this board just to be insulting or to bring others down. I'm really trying hard to see the added value of that.

Personally I'm very sad to see her go, because I got to know Shampoo as one of the nicest persons of this board and I'm glad to have met her! On the other hand I can't blame her for leaving!

I too, do not want to see Shampoo leave. It really hurt her, and it really hurt those who cared for her. She's one of my greatest friends on beta and she has been kind to me and many others, and is one that likes to bring good cheer to this forum. But at the same time, like everybody else, she can be hurt by remarks made by other members. And I agree with Uende, I don't blame her for leaving. I probably would have done the same if I were in the same position.

I've been sort of out of the loop recently because of work related things. Just posting here or there so I'm in the process of catching up on posts.

I'm going to lock this topic for a couple reasons.

First because Rayd is right. We don't want double posts. There are sections of the forum for a reason. I was going to flat delete this post, but decided to keep it showing for a purpose.

Second......I'm so sick of flame wars because as Uende has stated this is supposed to be the "anti-animanga". The nice place to come. Lately we've had an influx of users from the other forum which is great, but some are bringing their hostility and bad attitudes with them. And frankly I'm not a babysitter. I don't want to see nice members like Shampoo leave. I'm sure this topic is heating up from the other topic about DVDs being bought from a certain seller and NSP contacting that seller. The admin/mods discussed stepping in, but had hoped the war would die down. The fact that beta in a round about way helped NSP contact this person absolutely infuriated me. It was none of his business. He had nothing to do with the transaction and had no right to "butt in" not knowing both sides of the story. Who was right or wrong between seller and buyer is NOT for us to decide since we were not a party to the transaction. It's nice to warn users of a bad experience that members have had personally. But try and include yourself in the problem and using our forum to do it is beyond immature. The fact that I'm having to post about this due to user complaints just makes me sick.

If you have a "beef" with someone on this forum whether from a comment they made about credit cards or double posts you take it up via PM with the author and/or admin and mods. The forum is for anime only.......NOT FLAME WARS!!!! This is a place for people of the same interest to come and talk about their favorite hobbies and shows. If someone breaks the rules and you see it and have a problem with it then you let an admin/mod know and we will deal with the problem accordingly whether via warning or not. That or contact the person and discuss it in a diplomatic and mature manner. Sometimes posts get taken the wrong way when the author meant them to be funny. You don't know till you ask via PM.

If you are concerned about a seller and are interested in posting in buyer beware then you ask admin/mods about getting it done. If we think it's warranted via proof and common stories we will do so. Such is the case with the ebay topic going on right now about a problem bidder. We have enough evidence about this person from beta members personal experience. Not word of mouth.

Newer members (and some older members) should review the rules of beta posted in the please read section of this forum because this kind of behavior won't be tolerated again. I don't like having to post this sounding like a dicatator or parent, but when things start to get out of hand I feel I have no choice. I'm not going to lose longtime friends and members because of a couple of problem people. I shouldn't be receiving PMs about problem members and having to block people.

Bottom Line:
GROW UP AND KNOCK IT OFF!
