Did anyone like the ending?

Post by KT »

In an attempt to make this section active again, and because I wanna talk about Yugioh, I have decided to post about this! :)

I just saw the ending of Yugioh today...yes, I know, shocking coming from someone who collects Yugioh...But I was too broke from buying sketches to get the last DVD :D

Anyway, about the ending...
Did anyone else feel that it went kinda fast the last scene? My older brother thought this, and I kinda felt it too. Yami Yuugi left quickly as if saying (in the words of my buddy, MB! ^___^) "goodbye la la" then walking to the afterlife.

I think Anzu should have gotten some alone time with Yami Yuugi, or at least have Yami Yuugi say something to her before leaving, IMO
I have more to say, but right now my brain is feeling overloaded so I can't think straight :P

(LONG LIVE THE YUGIOH SECTION!)

I completely agree, KT. But then, when I think about, what would have been the purpose?

I think they all kind of said it in their own way while they were on the ship. Just by some of the comments and gestures they all made towards eachother. I think they all knew what was going on in the hearts and minds of eachother.

Yes, I wanted it to be longer. But when it comes right down to it, I think that was just me, as a fan, not wanting it to be over.

It was a good ending. Can't say I didn't get closure. That's about as "done" as it gets.

You guys are gonna laugh at me for saying this but what the hey.

All I've seen of the show are the first 8 episodes (before the US vesion started) and the movie. I've been following it in Shonen Jump, though, and thinking, "cute, but it's just pokemon."

Just finished this month's Shonen Jump (finally) and when I got to the end of the Yu-Gi-Oh episode I was stunned. That was really, really GOOD! So tell me, does it continue to get better?

(Nothing like being a little behind the times, eh?)

Oh, Baakay! The last season is the best! It really is less about the cards, so to speak, and more about the characters. A little more "mature," if you will. And I think that has a great deal to do with the timespan between Battle City (which was the last arc from the manga) and the Ancient Egypt Arc. It really becomes obvious how much Alcetraz and KC Grand Prix were just filler. You can see how much Takahashi grew in that time.

It's an excellent storyline all the way around. And it's pretty much completely from the manga. There's a few minor story changes, but not any that I consider significant. The way it all plays-out, especially between Seto and Kisara is different. Just. . . it's more "intimate" in the anime. I didn't think the connection between them was as well developed in the manga.

My only problem with the ending mainly was that Anzu didn't get some alone time with Yami Yuugi.

Yeah...I just can't believe it is over. It makes me so sad :(

At least the manga is still coming out. I'm gonna collect them all so I can read the manga version 8)

That's really neat... it was the impression I was getting from this little snippet of manga -- they of course have skipped a HUGE chunk of something in there -- was that it was much more character oriented. I was really drawn to how much more "real" Yami seemed ...

Dang! Now I'm in a pickle, because, you see, I have NO CLUE what any of the stuff you referred to above means, Kisara!! (Which is probably why the 9-year old had to explain the movie to me as we were watching it...) Ack. I foresee expensive DVD purchases in my future.

Couldn't pick a nice short 13-episode series to get interested in, could I. :P

If you can stand the engrish, I got most of my sets off ebay for under $20 each season.

:bawl I want to read the spoiler section! :bawl *feels so far behind* I really need to pick up my Shonen Jump's. With everything else I've been doing, I just haven't had the time. Must find the time!

Unfortunately, I've just been watching what kids WB shells out every week. It's good enough for now. I've seen the entire first season unedited in Engrish so I know how good YGO really is. I love it! Plus I saw a few episodes of the final season when I was in Japan last. One day I'll make it through all of the episodes unedited. :D

BTW, how many episodes total?
Can you hear this fangirl squee?!

Yeah it is 224. 251 episodes, if you count series 1. Plus, there is two movies.
