OMG!!! That episode of Inuyasha made me cry so hard!!!!! :l (but even through my tears I was wondering where I could find a cel of the piper! :D )

And WOLF'S RAIN!!!!! (his name was Toboe MDKiller)
When poor little Toboe died but still wanted to make the #@$!@#&-ing hunter feel good!!! And he was crawling towards him and APOLOGIZING!!!! I thought I was going to lose it!!!! :l
But Toboe made me cry a LOT throughout the series.

TRIGUN!!!!!! You guys know which scene..... :bawl

And this might sound weird, but I cried during that episode of Nightwalker where the breed possesses the body of that girl's dead grandfather. It just seemed so SAD when she found out he wasn't really alive again after all..... And the Angel breed!!!

I know there have been more, I cry a lot :rollin

The one that hit me the hardest was "Grave of the Fireflies." It was made sadder because the little girl reminded me of my younger sister (who is no longer around). My dad said that she reminded him of her too. :l

The big Fushigi Yuugi one hit me real hard too. It wasn't because of the surprise of it. It was because the way the scenes were handled. That was tough to take.

Other anime that come to mind that teared me up:

Kanon - Three of the girls stories I found to be very sad. The stories kept getting sadder as it went along. Ayu's story was extremely sad. Too bad the last episode backtracked on some of the stuff that happened earlier.

The end of Saber Marionette J.

Refrain Blue episode 3. That was a classic Japanese "cheering you up even when I'm gone" story.

Suika episode 2. This was another disappearing character story except that the character never returned. Sometimes the impact of the story is deadened because the character shows up somewhere in the future. In this case the character never came back so all those held back feelings could never be expressed to the character again. Ever. :l

Kare Kano episode 16 about Miyazawa's parents. Was just very sad to me. The impact of a goal that was never realized. At least that's how it felt initially when taken just on it's face.

Rurouni Kenshin First OVA. Tragic.

Kakyuusei TV episode 12 - This is the only episode I can list as being very sad and yet happy at the same time. "Tearful happy" for one character and "tearful sad" for the other.

Who's Left Behind - This was another World War II civilian story that was based off a true story. But it was in no way half as sad as "Grave of the Fireflies."

I know the Rurouni Kenshin TV series had a couple of moments got to me, but I can't remember exactly where they were. :(

I found myself crying in Naruto a lot actually... :l
When Chouji and Neji fight their own battles in the forest when looking for Sasuke... Kiba and Akamaru when they are fighting Sakon.. When hinata loses to neji... The Hokage incident.... I find myself crying a lot in Naruto. :l
Wow, I can see the smilie through the spoiler cover, lol!

Well there is the obvious with me .... Sailor Moon :rollin
I really can't even list THE scene because there were tears rolling in every season. I can say that a big part of it for me was the voice actress for Usagi (Mitsuishi Kotono) she has an amazing ability to really hit an emotional note.

And I have to mention Fushigi Yuugi there were several tear jerkers but near the end I threatened never to watch anime again...
When the credits started rolling and Tamahome & Miaka were separated I was so upset I started cussin at my hubby told him the show sucked yada yada yada Then when he showed up with the ring I cried even more it was such a great ending!!

Fushigi Yugi, obviously, even though:
I thought that Nuriko's death was one of the last great scenes in the show, it all went rapidly downhill after that. I couldn't cry for the other deaths because I was already numb and I felt they were to rushed and pointless. But, Nuriko's death REALLY got me.
Oh, and Ayashi No Ceres. That dang thing was practically a sob fest all the way through but, at least it has a somewhat happy ending. :)

Tex-chan, I have seen every FY episodes :) but thanks for the concern.
I didn't cry that much when I saw Tama with the ring in the end, probably because I had already soaked my carpet with all the rest ^_^. But it was a really emotional moment still !! Also, when the others came back as spirits the first time (I didn't know they were gonna use it each time after !), it was something ^_^.
And I agree with Hyaku about how the rest of the series was handled.

There were a couple of moments in IY that got me, but way less than FY :l .

I know I posted this in another thread, but it was without a doubt the last episode of Cowboy Bebop.

I also cried at the end of Azumanga Daioh-- not because it was sad, but because I knew I'd miss seeing these characters and their adventures.

I'm a wuss, basically. :P

Oh yeah! Cowboy Bebop! I can't believe I forgot that one. Tears were coming, but when that star winked out at the very end I just BURST into sobbing. :O

MDKiller!!!! You HAVE to finish Trigun! I know, BELIEVE me I almost didn't finish the series I was so pissed off, but
It was a great end to a wonderful tragic character. And he finally came to terms with himself and was at peace! Plus it makes you want Knives to die even more!

OH gosh... I don't recall any anime series getting me teary eyed... maybe Esca TV? If you were talking about a game, I'd be able to give you three titles that emotionally got to me; those would be Xenogears, Baten Kaitos and Shadow Hearts. I have much respect for anything that can get me to cry because you know that is genuine.

Some that I thought were good gut-wrenchers that haven't been mentioned
yet unless I missed it:
- Fruits Basket
- Video Girl Ai

I totally disagree with Grave of the Fireflies, though.

It didn't get to me that much mainly because I thought that it was
so drawn out that it didn't generate as much feeling in me. You could
see it coming from a mile away. In fact, I ended up laughing out loud
at the climatic moment because of the timing.
They drew out
the death of his sister so much that I was getting impatient over it.
I said "Is she ever going to finally die?". At that exact moment, the
narration of something like "She never woke up after that." came on
the screen and I started laughing over the timing of my remark and the
scene.

Ah! I forgot Fruits Basket!
The ending was so beautiful with Tohru holding Kyo in her arms and beams of light shining down on the two, and with her confronting Akito and then Kyo and yuki bickering to finish off. :) But I wish I could see more. Good thing a season 2 is coming out! 8O :P That's great!
I liked Azumanga Daioh, and i wanted to see more. It is a great anime!

I think the one that really got me was Ayashi No Ceres. :l I cried off and on through the whole thing. I have watched other series that made me sad but not sob like crazy.

From what I can recall, the greatest tearjerkers for me have been with Studio Ghibli films: Grave of the Fireflies and My Neighbour Totoro.

It's not so much the sadness elements but the realistic reactions shown by these kids which I find amazing. I like the way the boy looks after his sister in 'Grave', how he feels it's his responsibility while coping with the numerous obsticles in their way.
The part with the Totoro flying through the air always chokes me too, the music score is to blame too. Ghibli films are just too engaging!

Some Chinese/HK/Japanese mafia films which share the strong loyalty/brotherhood bonding theme usually get me to well up.
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me;
"Smile and be happy, things could be worse".
So I smiled and was happy
and behold;
things did get worse...

Grave of the Fireflies mainly because I currently live in Japan and have heard the horror stories from the survivors. Then seeing that I cried like a baby!
Most Bishies are eyecandy therefore they must all be attractive for the females. One Problem though Can we have MORE LEGAL eyecandy??

Oh man, I just got done watching the fourth episode of Elfen Lied and, aside from being one of the bloodiest series I've ever seen (and I'm including Nightmare on Elm Street in that comparison 8O ) I cried like a little baby. I still don't really know where the series is heading yet but I'm really liking it so far!!!!! (I don't mind a little hysterical sobbing every now and then! :emb )
