is it just me or is anyone else getting tired of heroine anime, and i dont mean the drug. i hope no one considers this sexist, but girl hero anime seems like its aimed at pre-pubecent teenaged boys hoping to get a glimpse of a panty shot when the girl gets into a mecha robot or mecha suit. give me a kenshin, trigun, berserk anyday over a cheap gratuitous panty shot!

I have to agree on this one. It seems that in recent years the gratuity levels have seemed to climb. Sadly panty shots and anime are almost hand in hand these days.

Once upon a time they believed that anime was something that guys liked and girls did not. Seems that girls like it too, therefor there is more anime directed at girls with something

tucked in for the guys too.

I guess we can forgive them since the rest of the world assumed that cartoons are for kids and not adults

lol I had to chime in here. I have to say, as a gal, not too offended by the panty shots. Figure it's a small price to pay for all the bishies we get to watch! But then. . . Ghost in the Shell, anyone? I will NEVER figure-out major's get-up. That is so purely for male audiences to an extent I even think it distracts from the show.

Sorry but, I'll take my sex and violence in heavy doses please (Ninja Scroll, for example).. I just wish they all didn't wear the same (white) color panty.. a bit of color or design here and there ...

But, what does bother me is that the super-sized boobs kinda gets ridiculous after about an H cup.. I mean those kegs

I don't think that panty shots distract too much from a good story line or plot. *shrug* I think it's refreshing to see some strong female leads doing something other than trying to get a guy!

But....yeah....What the #@$!@& is up with the Major's outfit? Not only is it too slutty for most hookers, it's downright ugly too!

I have to say, the panty shots don't bother me for one very odd reason... They're usually pretty realistic!! Think about it... If you're going to wear a skirt as short as Sailor Moon and jump around fighting evil in it, you ARE going to flash people on a regular basis!

Maybe I'm a pervert without knowing it, but when I watch girls in short short skirts in American cartoons and they can do anything they want without ever flashing.... It's actually distracting! I sit there and think: "Oh yeah suuuuure she could _______ and that skirt stays in *just the right place*.... Riiiiiight...."

I own a skirt that my husband likes to call my "Sailor Mars skirt"... I have black spandex shorts to wear under it, otherwise I'm sure I would eventually be arrested for indecency.... Because when I'm in it, even if I'm being "careful", people see those shorts a LOT.

Then again, this is all coming from a fan of the Jewel Princess (from Cutey Honey OVA) who is dressed in nothing but gems which she shoots off her body... and she also calls them her "boys"...

I'm amazed I even notice mere panty shots.

Yep. makes my shoulders ache just thinking about carrying around super-sized ones like that. A girl would never be able to stand up straight. Modestly medium ones are bad enough!

And, for all those animators out there, ... there is NO HUMAN FEMALE ANYWHERE whose breasts are completely, perfectly round and symmetrical!! Nature has this phenomenon called gravity, and it really does exercise its power on every part of a human being... (even silicone-injected parts!)

This happened with me and Full Metal Panic. I was all hyped about it before it aired, when I was in Japan, I loved the main character's design--thought he looked really cool--and then I watched the first two episodes or so... and it was littered with cheap panty shots. I was like... Ok, I could deal with one... but they kept doing it over and over again and I completely lost interest. I never watched it again. *sigh* But I agree with you. I'd much rather the serious, dramatic, bloody types over this crap. Which means, I don't get to watch much anime these days. lol

LOL I so agree with that. Its not only in anime. You see movies now days. That really arent "Porn" but are rated PG13 or R..and you see shots of girls...important places..but you really dont get to see much of the guy..maybe there chest..ITS NOT FAIR..lol

But for one..pantie shots and stuff like that in anime really dont get to me..for one its not real. But like I said I think it would be fair if they are going to do that stuff to get guys to watch the show..they should do it for the ladies as well.

Maybe im just weird..LOL

I think Tenjou Tenge went a bit over the top with the panty shots, personally. That was the first time I had thought that, but it didn't really bother me. In fact it is the first anime I can ever remember watching where a female is by far my favorite character.
