All three movies are out today :) From the hour or so I got to see of Nausicaa, it appears that Disney may be trying to prove themselves worthy of having the Miyazaki movie rights. So far, it appears to be edit free with decent subtitling. The only two small complaint I have is that the subtitles are a little too high on the screen for my taste, and if you do not have a 16X9 TV, the image may appear to be a little "horizontially squished" At least it did when I changed my aspect ratio to a standard display

Other than those two tiny issues, it's an absolutely beautiful transfer.

I'm not sure about this but, I read online somewhere that Miyazaki only allowed Disney to release the movies if they agreed not to edit.
Also, the dubbings are usually very good. (I haven't seen them all though)

I already saw Porco Rosso (got the demo full-lenght screener VHS for some time now) and it was a dub, and moslty I'm not really into dubs, but I really thought it was good (michael Keaton, Susan Egan,...) , and I think I saw no cuts, music stayed the same... So all ok :D

And Hyaku is right, Disney will not edit them in any way :)

All the stores around me are sold out... curse me for not pre-ordering them.

I still watch my Japanese Porco Rosso DVD... not too sure if I could watch the Disney Dub after getting used to the Japanese dub. Only one I couldn't wait for the Disney release. >.<

I so want to see Nausicaa.

Disney did have that in the contract.... they also had a time constraint in the contract too... But from what I have seen and read the time constraint thing Eisner messed with like the $#@! that he is. He was extreemly late in releasing several of the movies. I think Mononoke was the only one done on time.

As for the Subs / dubs and all..... I think so far all of them have been well done. They did a very good job casting people so either way you watch it, it's definitely good. IMPO

okay, i watched cat returns about a year ago, and the second time thru still charmed the pants off me...literally! i had a small problem with the translation but it was still good. Now, on to the rewatching of porco rosso, but first, i need to put on some pants!

I got Naussica the otherday (would've gotten all three, but dangit. . . I guess you actually have to have money :P) ANYHOO. . . I haven't watched it yet 'cause I was too busy chattin' with you goofs, but my son (who ordinarily hates most of the anime I watch. 10-year old that doesn't like subs, go figure.) LOVED it. Said it was one of his favorites.

lol Oh, there's my big contribution to this thread.
