Guilty Pleasures...

Post by Baakay »

And no, I'm not talking about naughty doujinshi here :P

What shows have you watched or are still watching for which you have no really good explanation? The kind of show you know perfectly well you should not be listing among your favorites, but you do anyway? :D

My current Guilty Pleasure is Tactics. Uneven writing, so-so character development, very predictable (especially the first few episodes) and run-of-the-mill art... I should be pooh-poohing the quality and yet I find myself eagerly lapping up every episode and looking for more. Why? Not a clue! Who cares? :D

Another one I found myself mesmerized by for no particular reason, given my usual distaste for inhumanly large mammaries, was Ikkitousen. It really doesn't have a lot to recommend it, yet I enjoyed the living heck out of it.

Who else has a "I can't believe I like this thing" and what is it?

Yeah... Beyblade too... and Shinzo... :sweatdrop

Since I don't get to watch anime very much where I live (since they show anime rarely...) I have to watch as much anime as I can before it's long gone. ;_;

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

8O Really?? I think it's just gorgeos! I absolutely adore this series :)

As for guilty pleasure, I love, and I mean LOVE - love so much that I'll watch it over and over again - Pretear. It's just not my style. At all.

Are you sure ??? :dlook (heheh... ok ok I am kidding :P :P)

I watch Tetsu-jin (not Iron shef America! That sucks!) It is predictable (very much so :D) but it is fun to watch Kaga :)

Also I like watching cheezy kanfu movies :D :D They are VERY predictable and funny charactors :D

Mine would be watching Cosplay Complex and Somedays Dreamers.
I watched Cosplay Complex quite a few times and still do often as it is only a 3 episode OVA. I only have the first episode of Somedays Dreamers but I've watched that about 5 times and are dying to see the rest. Both those titles are pretty far off from what I typically watch and ones I wouldn't actively admit to watching X|

Random list as they pop into my head:

- Bottle Fairy - I swear I could feel my IQ drop as I watched this, but it was
too cute not to watch.

- Ultimate Girls/Love Love/Smash Hit/Cosprayers/pretty much any M.O.E.
show - So bad that they're good.

- Burn-up - I think it's pretty much telling that the US release had a "jiggle
counter" as an extra

- Live action Sailor Moon - The less said, the better

Hey! That's not a bad thing!!!
...right? X|
I'd be watching the whole first six seasons again if I hadn't loaned it out to the kid next door!

I never see any discussions about Soul Hunter, but I liked it. By the ending anyway. Have yet to go back and watch it again...

And, yeah, I enjoyed I,My,Me! Strawberry Egg.

"Guilty pleasure" animes ... hmmmm .... well, in no particular order ..

Weiss Kreuz --- as I've said --- many, many times --- I adore it, although I'm really not sure why. I mean there's Aya and then there's ... um ... Aya. Oh ... and Yohji. :dgrin

Pretear --- I love this show so much! I'm not sure why, as it is definitely NOT the kind of show I usually go for. There is just something about it.

Virus Buster Serge --- I've watched it again and again and still don't know what it's about. But, for some reason, I just can't stop watching.

And, I'm kind of embarassed to say ... well ... Gravion. *hangs head in shame* I've only collected the first two dvds so far, but I plan on getting the rest eventually. This show just makes me laugh ... although I don't think that was the creators' intention ...

Hmmm ... I'm sure there are more, but that is all I can think of right now.
