Quadruple for your cel

Post by hyelakingsfan »

Since many people said they might consider getting paid quadruple of what you paid for your favorite cel this is a continuation type of topic for the "Double for your Cel". http://www.anime-beta.net/phpBB/viewtop ... highlight=

If someone paid you quadruple of what you paid for your favorite cel.......would you take it?

If someone offered me quadruple....wow....it would be a hard one since im in love with my favorite cel. Im undecided. But if i ever do i need some special permission from a special person :wink:

Well, as I stated in the other thread, it would still take some serious thought. So my vote went to undecided. I haven't had my favorite cel for very long, so at this point i'm still totally lovin it. Plus, it's my number one wishlist cel, so if I sold it I would have no reason to collect anymore. Plus, it took my over a year to track it down and aquire it. Thanks again to Nathan for helping me find it. :D

well,
for a collector's item, everybody has a price....

to put an extreme example..... if your favorite cel cost $10 you probably won't sell it for $40, but if your favorite cel costs $1000, some people wouldn't think twice to sell it.

Also, the price is not the only problem. It also matters the availability of cels from that series. Sometimes the cel is expensive but you will be able to find a similar one, and sometimes is cheap but it will be imposible to find another....

voted undecided.... the price is not the only factor....

Although I mentionned a 400% profit margin in the other thread, everything still comes down to the moment on which the decesion has to be made.
I went for undecided.

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

I can honestly say I would for any one of my cels or sketches in my collection right now. This is due to the fact that neither my wife or I have found our dream cel, or anyone that is willing to let them go to a new loving home. Though I did purchase a wonderful Nuriko Cel recently *Thanks to Shampoo* that my wife would adore and hold her over until I can stalk someone for the Nuriko Dream Sequence. If it were that cel, then no, I could never sell it, unless I pry it from my wife's cold dead fingers...that is. lol j/k

A dream cel, is a dream cel.....something really harsh has to happen for most of us to give it up...that's what I think anyways.

Heeheehee I did not say anything in the other thread but my answer is always "no". I will take my fav cels to my grave :P :P If someone says millions, I might consider but I do not think I will sell them.... (I am really bad for $$$$ :P I do not take so much values.... :P :P this is why I have my hubby, otherwise, I do not care so much $$$).

No. I can't bear to sell any of my cels, least of all my favorites. I've had offers made that were $100s of dollars more than I paid for certain cels and still refuse. Maybe I'm just dumb, but I can't do it.

I'd like to see someone pay 4x for my favorite cels. :P Some came with hefty price tags. :wink: For my cheaper favorites, I'd say definitely no way. For the expensive ones, I guess it just depends on the moment. If I'm in a desperate situation (I do have a couple priorities in my life other than cels :P ) I might be willing. But again, I can't see someone paying that much anyway. :wink:

I paid $350 for my favorite cel and was offered $2000 for it.
Its still in my collection. Though hard to turn down that big of
a profit, I think I would have definately regretted it had I said
yes, so I voted no. :wink:

Most of my favorites were purchased for ambarrasingly low prices, so it would take a lot more to get them, but I have a lot of cels that I would gladly part with for 4X :wink:

Quaduple for my favorite cel? No way... my favorite cel is actually the first cel I ever bought... I've bought and sold a lot of cels since then, but that one has stayed. I love it - and all my cels - I don't think I could bear to part with any unless I had to.

Again, I know that trusting you is the right decision Gabe, :wink: I went with 'Undecided' too. As DarkSuzaku said, if you're fave cel was purchased for $10 you're not going to sell it for $40- that's pocket money and dosen't justify giving up a loved pice of art. I've been lucky recently buying some amazing cels with backgrounds for under $20 each, last year I was paying $150 for 1 setup like this and I still think that was fair. There's no way I'd give up my $20 cels for $80...

That's the problem with these theoretical discussions, things change over time due to circumstance and your personal feeling towards each cel. It's impossible to come up with a definitive 'Yes-No' answer ^__^
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me;
"Smile and be happy, things could be worse".
So I smiled and was happy
and behold;
things did get worse...

Hmm, I'd be reluctant to let go of my favorite cel for 4x the amount, but still, it depends on the circumstances and the fact is, I like money. :dsmoke

My very first cel, on the other hand, is never leaving my hands - ever. I guess it's more for sentimental reasons.
