Which do you prefer?
So, this has come up for me three different times in the last month, and I am curious how others feel about this.
You see two similar cels on different sites/auctions. They are sequence mates in fact. One has a slightly better image (in your opinion), but no sketch. The other one has the matching, unstuck sketch (douga, not genga). The prices are nearly identical and the condition is the same.
Which would you go for?

the better cel
if there's something flawed in the design of the cel, like a badly drawn hand/bad proportion, then it'll be in the sketch as well. Some in-between cels are pretty rough. Better 1 good item then 2 flawed.

I chose one with the sketch- I'm a completest and knowing that there's a matching douga with a suimilar cel would draw me to that one.
Seems most people here would go for the better image but if it's only 1 or 2 frames off, there's not much to on. You get your money's worth with an accompanying douga.

Out of the gloom a voice said unto me;
"Smile and be happy, things could be worse".
So I smiled and was happy
and behold;
things did get worse...

I've had to make this decision before, and I went with the better image. If I didn't, I know that every time I looked at it I'd be bothered that it wasn't as nice as it could have been.

The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

I'd also go for the better image.

Man, gotta go with Krafty on this one. I like to see the "process." Love cels, but like I've said before, they're really just lines on plastic that someone, not that involved with the show, has colored-in (Not trying to minimize the work of cel painters. It's tedious and allows for no creativity. I wouldn't do it!). In fact, I like sketches on their own for this same reason. So yep, w/ sketch.
