Here's the problem, I'm thinking about getting some (or all) of the Yu-Gi-Oh DVD's, but I'm not sure what to start with.
At the moment they have Vol. 1-8 from the series, and the Movie over here in The Netherlands.
Now my question is, should I watch Vol. 1 first, or the Movie?
I always did like the way Yu-Gi-Oh looked, but I never got in to it because it was dubbed Dutch on TV here.
Thanks in advance!
My opinion. . . start with ep. 1 and skip the movie. It blew! And it has no relevence to the series. If you wanna rent it and watch it. . . but I wouldn't buy it. But yeah, I'd watch a little bit of the series so ya at-least know the characters.

Sorta along these lines... anybody know if a subbed version is going to come out in the US? I almost bought the tin collection thinking it had the original Japanese audio till I read it. Sorta want to see it in Japanese as well as in English.
They're re-releasing "unedited" versions now, yoshito. Pretty sure they have the original japanese on 'em. lol I have the first two releases and couldn't tell ya off the top of my head. (brain-damage *sighs*)

The only things you really need to know before you watch the movie are the characters names and that Seto doesn't like Yugi. That's it. And yes, the movie is seperate from the series. You won't miss anything if ya don't watch it.

It's coming out slowly. The third disc was released today. It is the original uncut versions. They even changed the dubs slightly to match the unedited scenes. It's not dumbed down like Funi made them. They are well worth the wait.
(They have the option of either English or Japanese audio.)

Thanks, will go pick them up. Also was curious about the movie as well, and glad to know the details of it. Saw the ads for it, and was beaten up by kids while waiting in line to buy tickets for another movie. >.<
