Usually, if I sell a cel, it's because I've found an even better cel to replace it with... I typically stick to collecting higher quality cels from my absolute favorite shows.

I think I fall into this category, however I don't like selling cels because I want to keep the best ones for myself- the ones I do grudgingly offer for sale are duplicates or images from my collection that I could live without. 9 times out of 10 I only sell cels to buy more cels ^__^

I actually do this to keep the number of cels in my collection to a minimum - so, at the end of the day, I end up with a nice compact collection of the best cels I can find

I usually don't enjoy selling any of my cels - even the ones I've found a replacement for, but in most cases, I must sell to fund the new one or just to conserve wall space (all of my cels are framed and on display).

Well, it is kinda wierd with me.

I usually buy first, then sell other cels because I need the money to pay it off.

So, in one way, I am selling to buy better cels, but also need the money to pay for those cels.

So far I haven't put a single cel up for sale, but I guess money and loss of interest have to be the main reasons.

Well, I voted for 'Need money'.

I will never sell any of my Cels, unless I really need the money for an emergency.

Well, like JWR, my cels and genga are probably going to my daughter who owns quite a few herself. While we occasionally trade, I haven't sold any. The only reason I think I would part with them is for a dire emergency. And it would have to be really dire!

I wouldn't recommend that since the only thing Ginger might do is eat them (which is bad for Ginger!) or mess them up (which is bad for the cels!) so if the kids can decide without fighting, I'd let them divy them up. (otherwise, will them to me.)

It was hard to answer this, because it depends.

There are several cels in my collection which would be among the very last of my things sold if I needed to raise money - I'd go through a LOT of other things first! The only way I'd sell them is if I decided to quit collecting all together.

But there are some that I'm in the process of putting up for sale. There are various reasons why I'm ready to let them go - mostly it's a process of refining my collection, since there are some cels I just don't like as much as I thought I used to.

i dont ever intend to sell mine.

now if i have lost interest in a series i have then i might sell it to get cash or a better cel. as for major things, probably not. so in other words, no.

inherit? that's a foreign word among my relatives. if i do kick the bucket i hope someone nice get them. unless i decide to bury them with me.*snickers*

For the most part I sell when I'm interested in other cels/sketches. Normally I have something specific in mind, there is the occasion when I will sell a few off due to school or car bills, but I do try to avoid those situations....(not that that's always possible, but I try to be optimistic...)

It depends on the cel for me! If it's one that I LOVE it will stay with me forever, but I just sold four cels on e-bay because I needed the money.

I chose which ones to sell based on how much I liked the individual cels and my collecting priorities (which are almost exclusively HxH at the moment

). The one cel I got rid of that I was actually attached to (possessed Riho

) I have a MUCH better cel of from the same scene.

So I suppose for me the question "To cel or to sell" will come down to a balancing test between how much I like the individual cel and my need for money (which also includes buying new cels

).
