At least you haven't suffered the indignity we heap upon the Elizabeth at our house. "E-Lizard-Breath." (It's semi-ripped off from the comic For Better or Worse ... but funnier :) )

Sometimes it's just "E." Like right this moment when I reminded her to go upstairs. "E..." *heavy sigh* "I'm GOING Mommmmm..."

Heehee! Your family sounds like mine, Kay! Our nicknames get so far from the original you don't recognize them anymore. One of my friends name was Allyson and my dad first called her Ally, then it morphed into Ally-Oop, then just Oopers. Unless you lived through the morphing process, you'd have no idea why dad called my friend Allyson "Oopers". :) And I'm afraid it's genetic, because I'm just as bad!! So I apologize to anyone whose name I've mangled! If I do it to you and it bugs you, please please say "QUIT IT, DUNDERHEAD!!" and I'll gladly knock it off. (Mostly I think I make up nicknames because my memory is so awful that I can't remember people's real names! X| Sad but true.)

Why? I make robots and AI's.

Heh heh... our senior cat came to us with the name Buffy. At the time, the Spouzal Unit and I were enthralled by a funny little math show for kids on PBS, and its lead-in was Sesame Street ... so we often ended up seeing clips of Snuffalupagus. And since Buffy was rather... portly ... at times in her life, she morphed into Buffalumpagus, or simply Lump, or Buffy-Lumps, or (compliments of my sister) Buff-Puff, or just Puff.

That's better than why younger daughter Jennifer responds more readily to the name Bug -- but that's a REALLLY long story that I won't bore you with! :-)

You don't know how true that is.

An example from last night. Baakay and I are chatting and she says how
she'd given up on the series 100% Ichigo and MAR. The conversation goes
something like this:
Me: "I like MAR. I realize it's totally retarded, but I still enjoy it."
Her: "You like retarded things, don't you?"
Me: "*Looks at Baakay and grins evilly*"
Her: "I set myself up for that one, didn't I?"
At least She IS ENTERTAINING :P :P

i would mind my name being posted on the boards yeah... but only because it's so common, i wouldn't think someone would be referring to me. in PM's or whatever people use my name and its cool with me. though if i were to meet any of you... i'd prolly greet you all as your screen names :P

*shrug* I don't really mind if people use my name. I use it in PMs and occasionally out here. I've been stalked before, and they were all people I'd met in real life who knew my name on the front end! :?

Of course, now I have to start calling Baakay "Professor Enid" :rollin

Oh yeah, my name's Courtney. My family calls me "The Oracle" though. :D

No, no, Cloud. That's ALLL over with, now. Done. Gone away. Kaput. The news was good!

So, Cloud, just remember me as Professor Enid from now on and it'll save you some keystrokes. Or... whatever it is you do.

And thank you for the blessing. :P

Yeah, you would definitely not understand a few of the names my family has for me. :) My brother used to call me sissie- not because I was a coward, but because he couldn't say Elizabeth and so my dad thought "Sissie" was short for sister, and so it stuck well into my teens.

There are a few more, but I try to keep them to myself.... :P

Eh, that's OK, Cloud. I'd prefer to keep them to myself. :D
