It's been a difficult anime week... first with FMA, then Trigun.

I've been watching FMA on CN, waiting for the DVD's to catch up, and was completely taken by surprise!!! :l :l :l
When Hughes was killed I was sitting there thinking, "No, that's not right... they can't kill him... :l then when his daughter was screaming, "Why are they burying Daddy?" I totally lost it.... :bawl
And, in Trigun, I knew that
Wolfwood was going to die... but not THAT way... I kept thinking, sure, he'll die, but later on, 'cuz he can't die like that... not after everything... why would he die like that? :bawl :O
I'm actually afraid to watch anymore anime this week. :O I'm so sad!
This is almost as bad as reading the Kenshin manga during the arch with Enishi! When Kaoru "died" I was depressed for a week!

I know how you feel about Trigun. Thats what made me stop watching it. I havent watched the rest of that anime since.

I missed FMA last week. Im going to be hopefully watching it tonight.

Could you let me know how that happen to him? (I dont want to spoil it for anyone)

Oh, god, FMA almost killed me.
I 100% didn't expect Hughes to go like that :bawl But did you see the way he just slit that bitch's throat without even thinking about it? *sniffle* At least he went down like a badass.
Not sure if this story deserves a spoiler, but I figured better safe than sorry:
That scene was almost exactly what happened when one of my friend's dads died. Her little sister had suffered severe brain damage at birth and didn't realize what was going on until the middle of the funeral and then she started asking what had happened and why daddy was in the box. I'm not sure if I can bring myself to watch it again tonight.
I changed the channel on Trigun night before last because I knew what was coming. :l But don't let it stop you from finishing Trigun!!!! *glares at MDKiller*

I would suggest watching Yakitate if you're looking for light, funny, and no angst whatsoever.

Well....maybe a little angst....but it all has to do with bread so it ends up being funny anyway. :D

Oh I forgot to ask in my other post.

How many FMA dvd's are out that are in english? I like to watch them with subtitles and then in english..

I've only seen two DVD's out, but there may be more now....
Hughes was shot... so unexpected... and even though he's shot, you keep thinking, he's not dead, he's not dead, he's not dead... until you actually see the box, and his little girl... :bawl Then Ed sees his ghost, and you KNOW that's it. /sob

We need some sort of support group for depressing parts of anime! I'm having such a difficult time thinking, "They're only characters, they're only characters...." Ah, what the hell, I'm just going to cry and get it over with....

Azumanga... hey, there's a REAL funny one!

The RKenshin tv episode with Kaoru and "the Engagement Ring"

Inu Yasha when he has his baseball cap on or when that bathtup scene and he runs into Kagome's room naked.....

FMA when Winrey wiggles with excitement over things or the epsiode where Hues's wife has her baby with Ed, Al and Nina freaking out.

I hope that brings happier and funnier memories! :)

The first spoiler is probably one of the "worst" / "best" moments I've seen in an anime in the last years.
If there was one person that was going to survive, I would have bet it was going to be Hughes. (Maybe that's also why it had such an impact on me.)

I agree with Aernath, for happy anime try Ranma 1/2 :D

or Gravitation...(but you've seen that already.)
Saiyuki can be pretty funny too :wink:
