Annoyed with Naruto and Bleach

Naruto and Bleach... the two major action/adventure anime, one an up and commer and the other a huge giant, both based on very popular (and very good) manga. Judging by the manag there is no denying that both have huge potential, the stories and plots are involving and the characters very likable, both with tons of fighting/action sequences. Then WHY.. WHY do the anime butcher these titles so?!? I just downloaded ep 134 of Naruto and I cant stand it any longer, I have to speak out. Why do these anime waste so much time? Naruto episodes 129-134 are pretty much a waste of time, all those frequent flashbacks of things that took place several episodes ago... the retelling of stories we already know in a very drawn out way... and the worst of all making the action sequences totaly uninvolving. Episodes 129-134 basically depict one fight, but there are only maybe 2 episodes of actual fighting and that fighting is not only rather badly drawn (ep 133) but also really uninvolving with both characters just repeating the same mantra over and over. I see similiar things happening in Bleach as well (like episode 32, which told a drawn out flachback that was dealt with in not even half a chapter in the manga). I just dont get it both these stories have loads of fights etc why do the anime scriptwrites/directors see the need to waste episode upon episode with flashbacks and repeats.

Ok ok.. I know Im ranting.. but it really annoys me. Does anyone alse feel the same?

Well, in Naruto I did like the

all out fight with Sasuke and Naruto, but after that til 136, total bore snore.

As for bleach ep 32 & 33

I liked ep 32. Nice to see Rukia's past and I think I like her even more now. I really didn't enjoy ep 33, but like the little kitty and the lion fighting spirit it turned into.

Im unimpressed on how Bleach deals with the story after the enter the Soul Society to rescue Rurika. In the manga, this sequence take up the majority of the volumes, and is filled with fighting/action sequence one after another, not loosing pace once. The anime have very few fights and these are really drawn out and just not as exciting as in the manga (which sounds strange as surely it should be the other way around). Now I agree that it is nice to know more on Rurikas past and all... but in reality this adds absolutely nothing to the plot and future episodes... its just filler... and they have spent an entire episode on it, that is my problem with it. Also all of Ichigos fights are slow: a lot of talk before the fighting, very short fighting sequence cut up with lots fo flashbacks and lots of talking after the fight.

I liked the Uchiha flashback episodes, and the awesome action in the Naruto/Sasuke fight. Sure, some parts of the flashbacks had been seen before, but they added some pretty crutial fillers to the plot this time.

Episode 133 ranks up there with lee/gaara. it wasnt that badly drawn, you have to look at specific clips to criticize it. and even if they used stick figures, the animation well made up for any deficiencies in character design.

Get used to it, flashbacks are just another way to stretch the budget. Watch Fushigi Yuugi and see how tired you get of pan cels. These are all TV series that are done on strict budgets and are about making money.

but I know w/ Naruto the reason why 136 totally blowed is because they are gonna start doing filler episodes to give the manga some time to progress.

Basically the anime caught up pretty quickly to where the manga was during/after the Super Team episodes-- they need some time to let the manga take a course so they know what to animate for the anime. Hence why it is laggggggging soooo muuucch... Blah!

Personally Im putting down Naruto for a while until it picks up again w/ the manga. /wah

SOooo... bare w/ it it can take a while.

thats what I was thinking as well, I havent actually read the manga very far at all (dropped it after a few volumes, couldnt get used to the artwork and it was somewhat dissapointing reading something when you know exactly what will happen next), but I did read on a BBS that the anime is very close to the manga in terms of plot. However surely they have the author of the manga working on the anime... and Im sure he at leat has a good idea how the next X episodes/volumes should go... so I dont really see why they need to stall, unless they are afraid that people will stop buying the manga if the anime goes ahead of it. If that is the case I suppose it is a legitimate reason, but I personally dont think they should stall either. If the author is working on the anime (and even if he is not) I dont think it would be terribly hard to come up with a side story (about some of the side characters or whatnot) to use up a few episodes and gain time.
Anyway I do understand that the point of an anime is to ultimately make money but it would be nice to think that how much money is made does boil down to how they treat the fans/viewers... I mean if they continue to dissapoint a lot of people will drop the series, not buy the marchendise etc. Although that might all be just wishfull thinking in todays world of mass media brainwashing.... ooooo... my favourite commercial is on.. gotta go ^_^

Well! This is exactly why I am not reading the manga as it comes out. I don't want to be a disgruntled former Naruto watcher. I'll save my disgrunties until after the show is done!!

Oh! Total aside on this topic, we have two new Narutards in the mix. It was a crappy rainy cold and miserable weekend here, and my girls sat almost the entire time watching Naruto. Their reactions were SO perfect!!
The first time 9-tails sneaks out a bit, during the bridge arc, they came flying down the stairs to get me ...

"Mom!! You have to come watch!!" "I've seen it already." "But it's SCARY!!!"

And now we have "Kage Bunshin no Jitsu!" being yelled around the house often. I keep thinking I should learn that too, for work. Just think how many more things I could catalog with a bunch of me.

... now THAT's scary!!
