I've still got a relatively small collection and haven't sold anything yet, but if I WERE to open my gallery for sale/offer, I do have an idea of what most cels are worth. Some of my cels (like my Yu-Gi-Oh ones) are now worth far more than what I paid for them. How much more? I have no idea. If someone were to give me a reasonable offer, I'd likely take it. After all, I bought those cels so cheaply that there's no way I could possibly LOSE any money selling them. (Before anyone e-mails me, no, none of the items in my gallery are for sale or trade.)

Troll!?!? :puzzled
Who Gabe? 8O

WTF dude..:kaioken you dont join a forum and then start name-calling.
:?
Chill out and act mature. :splat
Ive been known to be hot-tempered on this forum, some of the members have been unfortunate enough to see me snap, which I regret it because its not a nice side-- I've tried to restrain myself from running my mouth off after your ridiculous and very insulting rilezu comments aimed at Stephen and AM;s business w/ Rilezus --but this is going too far.

Grow up!

Just because someone doesnt agree with your opinon and tone of voice does not make it right for you to resort to name-calling.
I've learned this from past experience the only thing that will result of it is members leaving because of 1 foul poster who was too insensitive to see it. :?

The difference is whether one is sensible enough to see the mistake they make and apologize.

First of all, I would like to thank each and everyone who decided to step in when a direct insult was involved. I appreciate the support very much (and wish I would be have been as supportive in other situtations).

Secondly, I strongly feel that if an apology is in order, it should not be given to me but to Beta, and in particular to Uende, who took it upon her to keep going up against a new wave that has appeared, which attacked Beta at its core.

The core being that, as stated so wisely earlier, Beta's trademark is that it is a friendly forum.
Of course we are all aware that there have been heated discussions in the past, even resulting in some real unpleasanteries.

Yet it could never be denied that, on the whole, Beta still remains a place where it is possible for people who share the same hobby to discuss about and disagree over, while still showing respect for eachother and eachother's points of view.

I strongly believe the reason everyone suddenly sees the red flag going up is not because of the direct insult. It is because reflected things are not going "the Beta way'. And, as proven by the reactions, I'm very happy to find out there are others who are also very fond of "the Beta way".

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

:) Amen, Gabe. Nicely put. I'm sorry I don't have more of a spine to just state the obvious more often that rudeness is indeed taken personally around here, and it just isn't what we want or need here in Beta Land. I usually just laugh things off, but others feel things more personally and deeply than I do and I hate to see anyone's feelings hurt. It's amazing how close you can get to people you've never actually met before, but I love it here and it makes my stomach hurt when unkindness rules.

Now I'm going to take a deep breath and go watch something funny or fold laundry or something to unwind. I hope everyone else involved, especially my dear Uen, can also come back and be a happy Betarian after the hurt wears off.

I thought I would post a reply in this thread a couple days ago and I was surprised there are so many things changed since then 8O 8O

Anyway, my answer for huggling is (is it ok to talk about this.....?? plz??? /eyes: /ok ) depends....

I asked many offers when I started (desperately..... :P). I was deadly serious and I got some nice cels and sometimes I got nice replied saying "no".

As far as someone who is offering is serious I think it is ok..... :)

So I voted 'depends" :) :)

EEeeep...wow reading through the this thread makes me want to hop into the fetal position.... X|

I think hagglings okay, however I agree with kymaera to some degree, I'm not fond of making offers, I prefer that items have a set price so as not to offend the seller, though as you'll notice that doesn't keep me from doing the same in my own gallery, but then again I'm impossible to offend....okay it's not impossible but it's a really hard thing to do. Haggling (as I believe has been said) is the best way to keep both sides happy. /hmm

*Hmmm*. I agree to disagree with several of the points made on this topic.
(Can I be any more diplomatic in not hurting anyone's feelings by taking sides?)

Seriously, everyone's said some good points here- some I'd concur with and some don't ring true for me. I'm not even going to bother adding to this thread, I think we've all said our piece. Sorry we hijacked your thread Sensei.

"User Friendly"

This generally does not include direct pointed attacks, flames, name-calling, snippy attitudes....etc. Rational discussions are fine. Emotionally-charged unconstructive attacks are not.

I'm leaving the thread open in the hopes that the discussion comes back to a more constructive civilized tone.

I will remind everyone that if personality conflicts arise and can't be resolved, there is a Contact Management feature here that will let you control who's posts you can see and hide all traces of someone you don't want to see. Adding a user to your "ignore" list will hide all posts from that person, and prevent them from being able to send you PMs. I suggest you explore the Contact Management feature and use it rather than picking or participating in battles like this.

I am watching this thread now so I would advise everyone to chill out.

I debated on locking this topic for obvious reasons, but now that things have been aired out I think we can get this topic back on track and move on. It's a pretty interesting topic if it stays on course.
