So how many have actually SEEN Escaflowne?

I'm curious to find out how many folks here have actually seen this marvelous series and/or movie. I feel like I've wandered into a party where everyone is staring at me, and I'm not sure how many folks actually have an idea what me and my cel gallery are all about. ^_^

I have not seen it yet... but it is HIGH on my list as the music composer (as i understand) is the same composer that did the music for Arjuna (a HUGE personal fave!).
even Lady of Knight was telling me how much i MUST see this show...!
so, as i say, it's HIGH on my list!!

Oh Yes!
Yoko Kanno did indeed do the music for both Arjuna and Escaflowne, not to mention Cowboy Bebop, Macross Plus, etc.
I love all of the Esca soundtracks. Kanno is this generation's John Williams, in my opinion, even though she does occasionally borrow riffs from previous composers. (As a huge soundtrack BGM fan, I know for sure that she's "borrowed" from the soundtracks of both The Termintor and Toys, perhaps more.)

Nathan, the series is available on VHS and DVD. The movie is only available on DVD (unless you want to import the unsubbed Japanese rental video release, which costs almost $150 USD). Both are availalbe either dubbed or subbed.
I highly recommend the original Japanese with subs, since some of the greatest Japanese seiyuu ever are in it. Just about the only famous seiyuu who doesn't put in an appearance is Megumi Hayashibara.

You should be able to get it at the same place you get all of your other anime DVDs (or VHSeseseseses). Suncoast carries it, Amazon.com carries it...(super)no.17 wrote:i havent seen it..is it ne good?...if it is then lemme know where

DBZ fan...yes...I think that everyone know that I am. But I am proud to say that I am indeed branching. And I loved the Esca movie!! Something about the character design just pops to me. I just purchased the last DVD for Weib, so I have to wait a bit to start a new series. But I do believe that the Esca series is next on my list...*shuffles through papers*....*checks list*....Yes indeed, it is next in line!
I'am definitly a big dbz fan
But I seen all of it so am ready to expand my horizons
Think I check escaflowne out. Am sure I could probley get some of
it from the local suncoast. I've been meaning to check some
blue gender and a few other series but my habbit of buying
cels is draining my spending money
It's good though to have some
diversity and I enjoy learning of new anime
