On the topic of T-Shirts...

Post by sovereign »

my friend is a stylish and hip t-shirt designer(think urban outfitters, threadless, etc), and we're thinking of putting out some fashionable anime-related tees. I've heard of "Glomp Me" shirts and the like, but I haven't been to a con in a year so I don't know exactly what's out there and how much the designs have improved. what all is out there right now?

what type of slogans would you yourself like to see/own? any suggestions would be much appreciated. also, if anyone is going to AX this weekend, we need a volunteer to take photos of the shirts dealers are selling there.

I saw a homemade bumper sticker once I liked that said: "Anime - drugs would be cheaper"

You can find this range on The Right Stuf website under Bags/Merch

My bumper sticker reads, 'ANIME! Crack is cheaper!'

I would like a t-shirt with:

"got bishies?"
"got cels"
"acetate addict"
"He knows the crimson of rage, and the azure of despair... but his eyes will never change; the purity of white."

lol, the drug/crack jokes are great. I think I saw something similar once. I like the "got bishies?" phrase, wonder if that's been taken yet? as much as I'd love to make a cel-related tee, I'm going to have to start with something general. not to worry though, there will eventually be a cel tee.

thanks guys, keep the suggestions coming! ^_^

EEEEE!! I really like the "got bishies?" idea!!! :rollin (and, sadly, no I don't :l )

What about making a vintage looking faded tee with a print on it like an old cracker tin or medicine bottle (you know, flowy script and whatnot with some design around it) with "Dr. Snakeoil's Old Fashioned Acetate: A cure for what ails you" :P

I'd buy that :D

that's very clever! I'd substitute the word "anime" for "acetate," since I'm trying to appeal to a broader audience. let me run that by my partner.
