no way I'd have the patience to do them all lol

Momo, ummmm, I'm not really on here much but I've noticed that almost all of anime-beta has you on their ignore list. Why are you posting you friggin sushi! Go eat yakitori!momo wrote:Isn't the whole point of buying cels for your OWN enjoyment? If someone selects not to share that is their choice, just like it's someone choice to show all of their cels. Most dealers don't post their private collectors for obvious reasons, the same reasons holds true for collectors. I for one only post some at a time and rotate them time permitting.wwwpurple-plumcom wrote:Ya,
but I noticed some people don't always post their whole gallery or parts of it is restricted and that way I can't see some of their beautiful cel. What's the point of paying a lot of money...if you're the only one who gets to see them?

Essentially that is true but many of us have big egos and want to share the triumphs of our acquisitions with other fans.momo wrote: Isn't the whole point of buying cels for your OWN enjoyment?
I have to fully agree on this one and I would have the same reaction.kymaera wrote:by selling
cels under a "do not post" agreement, it would make it easier to pass stolen
cels as the chances of them being discovered would be much less. This
makes me even less likely to buy a cel under those circumstances.
I'm in total agreement here -- but, what I can't quite understand is how the person selling you the item can possibly enforce such terms as being unable to post an image online. I don't know... I guess the concept of a "do not post" agreement just baffles meIn_Gabriel_We_Trust wrote:I have to fully agree on this one and I would have the same reaction.kymaera wrote:by selling

I can't imagine any item that becomes your possession but comes with the restriction it can't see the daylight. ....
... but I can't wait for someone to come up with an hypothetical situation.In_Gabriel_We_Trust wrote:I can't imagine any item [edit] or reason...
They can't physically enforce this (unless they live close by and threaten to punch you on the nose, heh) but most of us buyers are too trustworthy and willing to accept the sellers terms if it's something we really want.zerospace wrote:What I can't quite understand is how the person selling you the item can possibly enforce such terms as being unable to post an image online
Yes - now that's a good point. I hadn't even thought of it that way. Personally, I'd probably try to stay away from such deals, but if it was something I really really wanted, I'd likely grin and bear it.Krafty wrote:Like Remi said before, you may agree not to post an image so that seller would trust you in the future when they have more goodies for sale.
I completely agree about harrassing someone to sell their cels... that's absolutely an awful thing to do to someone. There are galleries over which I drool and drool -- a couple of those folks know who they are, but I'd never go so far as to harass them about selling! I, too, have politely asked to be kept in mind if a certain cel would ever go up for sale--I see nothing terribly wrong with that. I keep e-mails from anyone who inquires about a cel politely, and I'd do my best to let them know if I ever decided to sell that cel.hobbywhelmed wrote:About harassing a gallery owner to cel sells - uh, sell cels - I've made a couple of "if you ever consider....keep me in mind" emails (but if the rest of the world files like I do, I don't really expect that to happen!), but harassing someone? Geez. There is a Gundam Wing collection I know of that has cels of Heero that send me into deep quasi-legal lustland (not to mention two galleries that have fabulous cels from my two main collection series), but while I might get droolmarks on their HTML (yeah, I'm even in envy over some website designs, my own skills being so crappy!), and would hope to be in the forefront of the line, should they decide to sell something, how can you harass people who at least give you a pretty place to see things that would have otherwise been lost in the e-ether?
