when i first started watching this i thought it had promise of a good story, then it got kinda boring. But the last couple episodes (11,12) were damn good. And the ending left you emotionally hurt.

my question is, was episode 12 the end?? i hope so, because it was a pretty powerful ending (what i love about it was that it wasnt a storybook ending), and i just hate it when they milk a series for too much.

yep, for good or bad, that's the last episode.....
in my opinion they could have added a few more episodes to clear things a bit, but well, with an ending like this it makes you think about the reality during that period, true love stories that didn't have a happy ending because the pressure of society and status was so high.

Yep that was the end... my younger daughter was watching me get all weepy-eyed and said "mom! what's the matter!!"

And no, they couldn't have added more unless they wanted to violate one of the great classic novels. Which, I suppose, they could have... But that was the whole point of the story. Class distinctions were so hard.

Damn, I just wanted to punch out his dad!! Although again, he was just being realistic for the time he ewas living in.

What an excellent show that was. Just beautifully done.

before the last 2 episodes i would have given this series a 5 out of 10, but with the ending id have to give this a 7!

Unrequited love is a beautiful thing huh?

(i didnt harbor any hard feelings agains the dad, but i did want to punch out that prince guy, i thought he would be more helpful, he was just a lazy bastard giving everyone analytical glares!)

Just downloaded the last episode but can't watch it until tomorrow when my daughter comes home from her grandparents. She has been following it with me. I have really liked Emma. I don't need all my series to be exciting and suspensful, and this is a quiet series which has everything it needs to have. I never expected a happy ending here, as this series went to great lengths to portray 19th century England accurately. I just hope I don't cry a lot at the end!

Same here... my daughters and I were into Emma.. Very much so. I can't believe it's ending at 12! I am so sad! Well I guess this means today I will have to download the last episode and watch the heck out of it. I can't wait!

the last episode was sad, but i didnt cry. but still, i had this strange feeling in my belly. and i felt pretty sad watching the last part where they were just giving credit to the subbers. dont ask me why, but i guess realizing that that was the ending and no more emma made me miss it.

those last episodes really made me think about that old lady's death. when she first died, i said, "so?" , but now its pretty sad.
