Slugfest East!!!!!

Ok I have been trying to hold out until Otakon posted the con schedule, sadly they are not quite on the ball soooooo. I'll commit to a time and place using what I have. Slugfest East is going to happen at 9PM (one hour after the dealer room closes so all the poor smucks who have to work can come out and play too) It also looks like the event will happen at the Holiday Inn Restaurant, featuring sandwiches, micro brews etc. This, however, is not set in stone as they are making noises about making me put down money. But I'll have it all worked out soon. As soon as the venue is set there will be an official page on Rubberslug to RSVP. I'm right now thinking about 15-20 have already committed I'll need a more set number in about 10 days or so so if you post here I can get a better Idea as to who will be coming. PLUS!!! I have some cool Rubberslug shirts and hats to give out as party favors courtesy of the Grand PooBah himself.

I would like to be there if it is somewhere very near the convention center, but I might have to bring my daughter, and if I do, I probably won't stay too long. IF my significant other gets out of his wedding job on time, though, I might not only be able to stay longer, I might be able to videotape everyone a little. (I can make really embarassing stills of people!)

It tickles me pink that people love Rubberslug so much to have not one, but TWO get togethers!

I wish I could go to the East Slugfest, but alas I can only support you all from the internet.

It is going to be Friday the 19th of August so it does not conflict with the cospay or the concerts, I'm sorry about the time but quite a few dealers wanted to come, (me being one of them) so I had to make it after dealers hours. The cel panel (I think) is going to be Sunday afternoon and I've requested an hour swap meet for the time after. Unfortunately, Ota has not given me any times, so with my luck the panel will be at the same time! This is basically a social. I think folks need time just to hang out and look at books with food and bevies, no stress but with folks who understand this strange affliction. Did I mention I have gummy lobsters? I promise it will be fun!

Everything has been worked out and reservations made! We basically have the upstairs part of the restaurant blocked off for us she said the area comfortably holds up to 30 people. Plus they are not treating it as a party, so everyone can have separate checks and they are not charging us for room rentals or anything! The hotel is only a short walk from the convention center, there should be no problems for anyone to get there.

Sorry all. My plane will touch down at 11:51pm. So most likely I won't be enjoying slugfest east.

As many of you will be asking yourselves, "Who is he? Do we care?" Well you probly won't in either case.

Sorry Drax I thought about changing it to Sat night but since the panel will be then, no can do. I'm hoping your offer of help for the panel still stands thou

And Rei all I know is that shouldn't be too out of control, I chose the place mostly for location and availability. Unfortunately, all of the restaurants around that area are going to be kind of touristy (aka expensive) and hotel bars generally count on a captive audience.

Jason has offered to do an official page but if everyone could just PM me with a just a quick it will be me and X number of my cohorts. Don't worry nothing is set in stone and an RSVP is not binding. If the number changes no worries I just need a general idea. Plus party crashers will be more than welcome!!! I also want to make clear that this is not an exclusively Rubberslug event. ALL CEL COLLECTORS ARE INVITED!! and in fact encouraged to come.

Since AMVs aren't starting until 11pm, it looks like I'll be able to make a bit of this shindig after all.

Since Holiday Inn is my hotel it shouldn't be any trouble. I'll see if I can pull a couple of my fellow non-Beta cel collector friends along with me.
