I am very angry! UPDATE!!!!!!!!!

Post by Not Sir Phobos »

My wife (Marie) was called by a telemarketer a few days ago. She hung on the phone through the automated message untill she talked to an actual person so she could tell them to remove us from their list. Also keeping detailed notes at the same time like she always does.

A man answered, and she asked him what the company name was. He mumbled something. She asked him again what it was, "What name our campany is doesn't matter, do you want this deal or not". So her reply was a quite logical one: "Look, I'm not going to buy anything from a company who's name I don't know" and asked him to spell the company name for her.

His reply to that was both logical and professional "Maybe you should take some fucking spelling lessons" and hung up.

I get very furious when people mistreat my wife, ask her yourself, and I want to know what I can do at this point. I've called the number back that was on caller ID and "All circuts are busy" all the time.

I didn't find out about this till last night when I got a call from these baffoons and just hung up. Marie checked the number and verified it was the same people by the phone number. Not only are they rude, vulgar, and offensive, but they called back!

I am so angry typing this.

Sign up for the national do-not-call list. If you're on the list and they still call you, and you have their name and number, they can get into big trouble. Of course, it takes about three months for them to stop calling you from the time you sign on, but it's well worth it. You'll still get some soliciting, though; stuff like governmental elections and such. Apparently they're exempt from this list....

But that's horrible that a freaking soliciter treated your wife so badly. Usually it's the other way around, but you'd think that they, since they're calling to solicit money, would at least try to be extra nice. :x

Can you put a call block on the number? I doubt you can do anything about the rudeness of that telemarketer, but you don't
need to be continually harrassed with more phone calls until the do not call list kicks in.

While I am a fan of firearms, polishing it won't help at all. ^_^;

I voted for calling the police because that was verbal harassment, and caused distress. Verbal = assault. So I'd say call the cops. :)

If you are on the list you can register a complaint against the company.

Not sure how effective it is but I wouldn't go and waste more time and money on people like this. I doubt the local police could do anything either.

Cop call has been placed and they are putting a deputy on my case. Things are looking up.

Report them then! You can just about SHUT THEM DOWN for calling you when you're on the list... as long as they're not government related... Go to the site and see how to report them!!!

While I understand your frustration, there are more serious things to get upset about. Pick your battles and this isn't one of the battles worth your time. If it starts to repeat then yes, but one phone call isn't worth the effort.

Be angry for a bit then move on... If I made an effort to try and retaliate every time someone pissed me off, I wouldn't have time for anything else.

Just like what was suggested before, file a complaint and follow up on it. The police can't do anything because they don't have jurisdiction over this sort of thing(unless the jackass was calling in state). If she logged in the exact time of the call and the number, you should be able to nail the person who did this. Good luck!

I think the only thing that you would/should do is call the company back and speak with a manager or someone who can take a complaint for you about the person who called. This almost exact thing happened to my mother, someone called and tried to tell us that we should consolidate our mortgage blah blah blah. Well, my mom owns our home, which is exactly what she told this telemarketer, whos response was something like "Well, isnt that just f***ing wonderful, b***h.", and then hung up.

We called back the comapny (which happened to be a local company to our area) and spoke with a manager who found out who had called us, and they called us the next day and told us that Bob or whomever it was was no longer working for them. :) :P

They mistreated my wife Soda, I do need to stand for that. I always have and always will.

He cursed at my wife so now it's not just a "Do Not Call List" issue. The deputy said that now it's a FCC matter also.

I'm going to hit them with a double whammy.

Not that you've done business with them, but there is a loophole in the "don't call list" that companies you already do business with can call you even if your on the national "do not call list".
I'm on the list and have had calls from SBC and a few others. X|

Sad to say you have to tell them do not call again to re-add their sorry a$$ to the list!

Also if someone calls always ask to speak to their supervisor, you don't have to deal with the low-life.

I am very sorry what happened to you. That is very frustrating.... :(
I cannot give you good advise b/c already many posted suggestions....

I would ignore phone calls b/c they are paying phone bills (if they are outside of local), right ;) I think they will stop calling you sometimes soon.....
