Just a quick shout-out to the guys at NASA for the safe return of the space shuttle Discovery! I have to say, watching the shuttle land brought me to tears. WELCOME HOME!!

Yeap, that's what I was doing when it glided to the ground. It was stinking 4AM!!! Sheesh, waking us Californians up with your loud booming.

=P

But it is always cool seeing the brick land in the CA darkness.

Hurrah...

Gosh I remember the FIRST one that landed being one of the most thrilling things I'd ever seen. Somehow they don't get any less exciting -- or tense -- as years go by!

I hope they'll be able to do some first class updates on the old girls before they throw them upstairs again :-)

Savor the flavor because that's the last launch we'll see for a while.

Phew! Good to know they made it back safely! I remember the first launch and the first return- quite a feat, really.

They had a launch a while ago on the radio- it was incredible just *hearing* it on the radio.

haha! Did you hear it!? That's what sucks being up in Michigan...nothing ever exciting happens here. It would have been so cool to watch or at least see a little bit of the shuttle coming in. It was a little past 8 here when they landed...and I had been watching NASA TV until the stupid channel that it's on switched to something else 10 minutes before they landed. I was *SO* angry. Of course, it was on CNN and everything else, but they gab too much. lol

Barry works there? KSC? That'd be so much fun working for something like this... Of course, I don't have any qualifications for it...but it'd still be fun. It totally tickles my explorer funny bone. :)

Thank god no... living in norcal does have its advantages. =P

Hmm, so we have an actual honest to goodness Rocket Scientist here?

I've forgotten the first flight now, saw Challenger blow up live though, and remember it because it was during school.

Heard they might move up a launch since they are now investigating to see if the foam fell off because some clumsy person bumped it during repairs.
