Do you like reading comments?

for me it depends. sometimes i just like looking at the cel image. then at other times i like reading what comments the owner has added for the cel, wheither it's ep info or just stupid stuff.

I love reading comments and I love writing them--but it always helps if you've seen the series. I love to pinpoint the exact episode and what is going on at the time . . . though I must admit that I have been lacking in this regard lately.

Comments! I always look for them and I get a little disappointed when I don't find them. I like finding out what's going on and what the owner of a cel is thinking. I guess it just makes it feel like a more personal collection.

Personally I like reading comments, but I visit a Gallery more for the cels and sketches.
I don't add comments to my own Gallery, because I don't have the time.

Sneaking back in to say... hey, if you don't have time to write a comment you shouldn't feel BAD. It is, after all, your gallery, your collection, and... your life

Who be we to pass judgment?

I personally have had updates sit forever because I couldn't think of anything to say.

On the other hand, it's kind of fun to write down what I dimly remember happening in the scene, because inevitably someone will come back and say "well, I'm sorry, but that's just wrong." It's one way to garner some comments!

Count me in with the group of people that love reading comments. Writing down a comment with a cel can add SO much to its display. Even a few words jotted down can make a significant impact. I too also like to read silly comments

I couldn't agree more with what Baakay said. Every gallery owner approaches things differently. Otherwise, we wouldn't have the wonderful variety in artwork and gallery styles out here on the Internet for our enjoyment. You should never feel bad because you don't have the time to write comments. It's your gallery, period ... and it should be the way you want it to be, first and foremost.

I appreciate that people take the time to share their artwork with me online, even if they don't have commentary along with their cels. And, although I love reading comments, the lack of them has never stopped me from visiting and enjoying a gallery! I apologize if my previous statements in this thread made it seem otherwise.

Oh, and before I forget ...

Count me in with the comments, just love reading them. Especially if it's a series I don't know anything about, gives me more reason to see it if there is an enthusiastic commentary on a particular cel/scene.

But the totally random and off the wall comments are my favorites. It makes you want to pack a lunch and wander through that person's gallery to see their take on a series you know, and the ones you don't know.

I love reading comments! I just wish I was better at writing them, and I admit that with some of my sections I'm rather lazy about writing. I sometimes have a hard time writing anything besides squealing, fangirlish comments. Maybe I'll make that my personal homework assignment for the next few weeks.

I really like reading comments since it usually gives you an insight into what people find special about their cels. It's their personal opinion as to what they like and I find that interesting to read.

When I first browse a gallery though, I tend to skim through the thumbnails and find a cel that interests me, whether it be aesthetically pleasing or just a silly/funny scene. That then leads me to click on the thumbnail and read more about it.

I'm always disappointed if a cel has interested me enough to click on it and I don't find a comment, so I'm obviously for comments. I usually post a comment with mine, unless I don't really have anything to say (which happens occasionally). Unfortunately, I'm a little embarrassed about some of my comments because they are usually written in stream of consciousness, as if I'm talking to myself. I probably need to spend more time thinking of describing it to others who don't know me. ^_^;

I remember the saying "Every brick in Paris has a story."
Cels are like that too.
Every cel is unique, was crafted at times with painstaking love by its creators.
Some are appreciated more because the moment they represent. Some are just so pretty to look at.
But theres another reason too---
My uncle bought a lovely old Bentley once and had it shipped over from Europe at a bargain price. He fixed it up but one thing always bothered him--- it didnt come with too many details of its past, cept for the mileage and year but it was a really old car. He spent the next year tracking down its story---- turns out the car had been switched from wharehouse to wharehouse for years-- it was owned last, briefly by a German family who toured around Africa in it. Before that it was owned by an English family who had it for 20 years, but sold it in England---- they happened to have bought the car from the same dealership in England my Uncle used to work at! (the gap btwn when my uncle worked at the dealership and the car was sold was at least 10 years)

So every cel has a story too of its own--- it started out as being drawn--- then likely it was sold and sold again from who know how many collectors until it ended up in your hands. Itd be cool to trace the path your cel journyed from being for a second in a tv show to being in a col collection book...
So yeah, when I see a cool cel and no comments whatsoever i feel jifffed---- because you cant tell me theres not a story or at least some history to it.

I love reading comments. Some of you guys have such a way with words (you know who you are), and everytime you update I have to see what you wrote about your new cels.

I try to place comments in mine, but sometimes I just don't feel like it, so you get a pretty mixed bag at my gallery.
