ARG! Ebay Seller Pet Peeves!!

Sorry guys, I gotta vent.

Last night, I just sold 2 brand new dolls I got from a toy factory for $200. They originally retail for $120 a piece and have just now been released to the market. This morning, the buyer contacts me says she thought they were different dolls (a COMPLETELY different brand than what the title, description, and picture shows on the auction, nowhere even close to the dolls I have). And then continues on saying how overpriced we are, etc, etc. Then, she backs out and even has the nerve for us to "mutually retract" her bid. Like it is all my fault and I am being misleading.

I asked her to pay for the fees if she wants me to mutually cancel the transaction, which she refused. Then, admits that she found the dolls for $190 elsewhere and that is why she wants to cancel.

The ironic part is that this person has flawless 100% feedback and should know the rules by now.

It just amazes me how incompetent some people can be. She asks me a favor to cancel the transaction (we are oiut $10out the dolls), then attacks us at the same time. I mean . . . GRRRR!


So, does anyone else have Ebay seller peeves they would like to share? I hope I am not the only one who attracts weird, stupid people!

I just looooove coming back to check on an auction, and seeing that, even though it says RIGHT IN THE DAMN DESCRIPTION AND LISTING INFO that I ship to US ONLY, that some wanker in Australia has the winning bid.

Even better is when they expect to pay the domestic shipping price.
What, are they on crack? Who do they think they're kidding.

Those are second chance sells all the way.

Did you mutually retract? I wouldn't do it and report her to ebay in a few days. I used to be nice, a little to nice, to bidders on my auctions but some people try to take advantage of you, which I've had done to me. I've lost money for many auctions because I waited and waited and waited for bidders to send payment and they never did, also such a long wait caused me to lose refundable listing fees, etc. It's those type of people that have made me into a much stricter seller. This is just my opinion though.

By the way, she wants to buy them elsewhere for 10 bucks less than what you sold yours for? Sorry, but I think that's a silly excuse she is giving. I MIGHT understand if she found them cheaper for 20 bucks or even more savings than that, but still, this is like a contact and she should have 'compaired prices' or looked thoroughly before buying your items. Hope I don't sound like I'm flaming here but I get so irritated when things that have happened to me start happening to other good pplz.

Oh, no. There is no way I would do that unless she pays for the fees or if I did an error on my part. Buyer's remorse should not be my problem. I MAY have let it slide if she was polite. But, OMG! She was so rude! First, insulted me, then said she thought they were something completely different (which I found out was a complete lie and she admitted that she found them for $6.00-10.00 cheaper, which could also be a lie since I couldn't find it on Ebay or online), insulted me again. Then asked for a mutual cancelation. 8O

I only have a personal Paypal account--I hardly sell anything, and I figure that I shouldn't have to pay money for someone else to pay me. One week, I had two auctions up, making a total of maybe four auctions in my lifetime. Both winners were international bidders, and both paid me with a credit card on Paypal. :x I had it listed three times in the auction that I could not accept credit card payments. One bidder was fine with this, he linked his bank account to Paypal and paid me within a week or so. The other one wanted to know why I couldn't accept credit cards. I had to explain three times, then he thought I was ripping him off. Finally, I sent him the link on Paypal's website explaining the difference between the account types. He replied, "Oh. I'll send you an IPMO." :evil: All of the while I felt like screaming, "You did read my auction, didn't you? I listed that fact three times--once it was even bold, red, and underlined!!!" So read your auctions please. :D

Jeez, sounds like she is spitting out total BS. I hate when buyers feel as though they have to be moody with you even when you try to be polite about the situation.

I had one bidder who won an auction and wanted to pay by paypal. I politely told him that the auction stated I can only accept money orders at the time and he could pick one up at a post office. The invoice I immediately sent him at the end of the auction also stated this. So, almost 2 wks passed by and I still had not received anything or heard from him. I emailed again and he replied stating he was waiting for me to open a paypal account so he could send payment. I had to email him again stating I dont take it. So aparently he got peeved from this and replied that 'it would make it easier on everyone if I would just accept paypal!' After that I filed an unpaid item despute with ebay. I'm not sure if you are familiar with UID's but the bidder has to respond to it. His response was that he did not intend to pay in any other way than paypal. So he received a strike on his account and shortly after, before I could leave a neg., his account was closed. I assume he didnt pay other auctions and had other reports agains him.

:? I won a bidding that also was stated only usa, I just was not looking well... (hehe oion :wink: )

Why is it that you won't ship International btw? its the same postal office you have to go to :) :wink:

Because Cam goes to school durring the day, and then to work.
I don't drive.
Therefore it's really hard to get to the post office durring Desk hours. And the auto systems won't let you ship International.
Also, before anyone asks why I don't print postage at home.

Sounds like she is being VERY UNRESONABLE (and all you've done is be polite and lenient and overly reasonable!)...it seems she is being totally unfair on you and its totally out of order. I hope it is sorted out soon tho. It's so much hassle having to relist and wait for the auction to end all over again...all because she overspent and now is regretting it.

My most annoying eBay peeve is when people DO NOT read my description...that is why I wrote it...so you can make an educated decision on whether you want to purchase it or not. Silly questions that I've already covered in my auction are annoying too...but not as much! :)

Please let us know how the transaction ended...I probably would give her a set amount of time to either pay for the fees or the auction and then go UID on her. Good luck!

If you don't want international bidders, just change your seller preferences to accept bids from countries you only ship to.

My only negative experience with eBay are the auction winners that sound really polite and keep just enough contact to make you believe they'll pay. "Oh I'm sorry, I replied late...", "Yes, I still want the item...", "I'm just waiting for payday later this week", "I'm going to send it this week...", etc. Arrrgh!
