The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

I never had any problems with hotmail... but I think I got my account in the pre-code age.

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

Hehehe, I can't even remember when I first signed up. Hotmail is always changing things and I've probably clicked on something sometime so they must have added it. I still have yet to check my settings. :)

Microsoft decided to cancel my account since I never used it. Oddly enough though, the "MSN Messenger" still works since they don't really cancel your account.

Don't care actually, since I use my yahoo one and gmail. Wondering when Google is going to get rid of the beta part.

As for the added hoops, probaly trying to reduce the amount of bots. Which doesn't work since they seem to be able to get around that part as well.

Hotmail is evil.

That's how I see it, anyway. :P Yahoo! Mail works for me, but gmail I've heard is great as well. :)

I've had that happen, too. And underneath in light gray letters it reads "8 characters." (or is it 6?) But I sometimes type 9 or 10 and it works. But I nearly always have to try 2 times because I'll get the red letter edition that says "YOU MUST TYPE IT EXACTLY AS SHOWN!" Except there are random marks that look like letters .. or is it numbers ... or is it aliens ... ARRRRGGGGHHH!!!

And it usually happens right after I write a really looooooooong email.

Ha, same here. Probably had my Hotmail account for 7 or 8 years and with it hooked up to my Outlook Express I've never had to sign in or encounter any codes. I can imagine that they try to make it safer nowadays and this is the best they've come up with!

DBZMomma I know what you mean! The day I created this post I swear it took me 4 times to type in that silly code before I got it right! >.<
