Duplicate the scanned layer. Make sure the duplicated layer is the selected layer, and go to the drop down box in the layers window, it should say "normal" by default. Pull it up and select "color burn" anything dark on the layer should become darker. If it's to dark, just play with the opacity slider, the original scan is below after all. You may wish to brighten up the original scan before doing all this if you think the paper isn't white enough.

thanks. i'll try and see if this is in adobe since i have a very old version of it.

well it i can duplicate the laye but not sure about the other stuff.

need help again. but uh it's computer help. ok i deleted my nternet explorer. yes i know that was stupid. anyway it wont let me redownload any other versions because it says i still have part of the previous one existing. now the only that i can think of that's existing is the configuration file in the program and files in the c drive. i opened that file there is nothing in it. tried deleting it, it wont delete. went into safe mode and deleted it there but when i go back into normal mode it's still in the damn program file. anyone know what gives.

Can't help with the ie thing...
However to darken in adobe photoshop, hold down the control (ctrl) button and then hit the "L" key. It will pop up with a little "levels" screen with a graph and three arrows under it.
The left arrow is shadows, the middle is mid-tones, and the right is highlights. If you move the left arrow in, or to the right, the shadows will get darker. If the sketch starts to get dark, click on the middle arrow or the right arrow, and move it to the left a little bit. If you can't bring up the levels screen make sure you are in RGB color mode. You can also bring up the levels graph by going to the pull down menu "image-adjustments-levels."
Hope this helps! :^^:

Internet explorer is very tightly tied to the windows operating system itself. The operating system is still in use when you are in safe mode, so you simply cannot 'delete' it. The application's information is also stored in the system registery, so deleting files of any 'installed' application will not necessairly remove all traces of it.

First thing, check your recycle bin. If you see the files you deleted in there, restore them.

If that doesn't fix it, try the following. I'm answering as if you have Windows XP. If you have an older operating system and can't figure it out, let me know and I'll adapt.

This may wipe out all your Favorites. To back them up, copy C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Favorites to a different directory, and copy them back after the restore process.

First, dig out your Windows CD.
Go to start->control panel
Open add/remove programs
On the left side side, open add/remove window components.
Uncheck internet explorer. Click next. Give it a CD if it asks. Click finish.

Now repeat the above, except fill in the checkbox for internet explorer. This should completely reinstall it off the CD.

If you get lost, post to the forum. I'll try to monitor it :-)

That disk should be fine. Just be sure to run windows update after installing internet explorer.
