I might be getting two cels, depends if I can work up enough money!

Anyway, the one I'm drooling for (and please no one else want this one! I'll cry!) is a nice el Hazard http://www.animaxis.com/en/shop/product ... 25920%2D00

and if things go great I might pick up this other el hazard too http://www.animaxis.com/en/shop/product ... 25923%2D00

The Diva one is all yours! Mrs Poe!

Heheh those two are great...I was actually worried as soon as you mentioned El Hazard, but alas it doesn't look like...well at least I hope not, that noone has their eye on the one or two Shayla Shayla hankens that are there...well I'll have to at least see how big these 'discounts' are. :?

About the framing

Post by shadowlight »

Since I have gotten a couple of their hanken before, the frames are pretty ordinary lacqure frames. The backing they use on the framing are quite nice. The struts in the back are on pivots so that you can open the back up and let the cel breath every year or two. They have not used glass in any of the cels I purchased. They have been using plexi. Glass would never survive being shipped to the U.S. Axis is not framing the cels themselves, they are sending them out to another company to get the frame, plexi, and mats.

Good luck to everyone on the sale, but I have a feeling that a lot of the stuff is going to stay exactly the same price as last sale.

I suggest never letting a hanken or valuable cel ship in a glass frame. If the glass breaks when the cel is inside, the cel will be shredded.

I've asked sellers to ship them separately in the past, or to keep the frame and just send the cel if that's not possible.

Yeah...Those were the frames I saw. I wasn't too impressed with them...But to each his own. They would be nice for storage, but I would never reccommend anyone display the cels in a plexi-glass frame ^^;!

Like I said before. The cels were taped to the matts with tape that didn't look archival, was browning, and was actually taped over the painted part under the matts O_o!

A word of advice to anyone who might buy a hanken in the upcoming sale - do NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT ask them to frame the hanken for you. If the hanken is already in a frame its ok - they are the cheap AIC plexi-fronted frames...but if you ask them to frame it they will use GLASS. And it will break. And you will open a box full of glass shards.

Yes, I know this from experience. Turned out ok because the hanken in question had some airbrush work so had a second piece of acetate on top of it to protect the airbrushing, and when that was removed the actual hanken was undamaged. Most hankens won't be like that though.

Actually there are three types of frames that are used, and the quality level differs. The first is a thin pastel painted wood frame, about a centimeter thick. These are flimsy, but easy to get the cels out of. The second type is actually fairly nice, which is a ridged gold painted frame, also very easy to get the cels out of with those hinges. The third type is the thick white frames with the plastic corner covers - these seem ok but have to be disassembled to remove the cel - it is secured by staples into the wood and covered in framing tape, which will need to be cut. Takes a while to do and the frame will be difficult to reuse.

The sale started...

And I'm VERY disappointed in animaxis. They raised the price of the diva cel from last time -_-! and some or only $100 less than last time...*sigh*...

Good luck to anyone woh goes for anything! You're better off buying a hanken from Museum or Curt!

*cries* The ones I want are no where near a price I can afford! I was kinda hoping to have them 90% off. I guess thos I knew they wouldn't be chosen for that! How many cels are 90% off anyway?

So did anyone from Beta pick up this beauty?

http://www.animaxis.com/en/shop/product ... 25688%2D00

It's a wishlist cel and I think it was gone before I first checked the sale.

It looks like most, if not all, of the swimsuit Ryokos are sold.

Thanks,
GB :)

Guess I'd second what Ms. Poe said about Museum & Asylum.
