I've been trying to email Lynxa, but both my messages bounced. She lives in New Orleans, now known as prime real estate for merfolk... does anyone know if she's okay and whether her apartment is still above water?
Minion = scared...

*looks for a "fainting with relief" emoticon, but fails to find one*
Furniture can be replaced. Clothing can be replaced. Buildings can be replaced. Cels can be... um... peeled from their ruined sketches and hopefully dried off. But to lose a Lynxa would be horrible and tragic indeed.
Glad you're safe, lady!! And your little dog, too!

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
-I, Robot (Asimov)
There, you see? Even Cloud thinks it's time for a "fainting with relief" icon. While we're at it, how about a "green with envy" one, or a "good luck!" one?

He he! I feel the looooooove *waves* We're okay! I took all my cels with me too It's looking now like the storm wasn't as bad as everyone had feared - it turned suddenly to the north so it didn't hit us head on *whew* I might have gotten out of this with just some flooding since I live on the west side of the city and it looks like the worst was in the east. (Of course, I live about four blocks from the levy so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it held )
If they're letting people back in this weekend I'm going to go and make sure the house is still there and see about salvage. There's no telling when power might be back on though.
Don't know why your e-mails are bouncing though......
Well, when you get back to the apartment, please let me know if there's anything you need to put your life back in order. We've got tons of extra linens, towels, kitchen stuff, assorted electronics and computer gear... we're packrats of the worst sort, and would be happy to ship down a care package if necessary. **BIG HUGS**
Of course, I hope you discover that your stuff is undamaged and not even damp. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts!

That's ditto from here. I could probably outfit another 2 kitchens with stuff. Blankets, towels, computers
And Minion!! I was just about to wonder what had happened to you!!
I was starting to wonder what had happened to her too!!!
Thanks guys! I really, really appreciate it! It looks like I won't be able to go in to survey the damage for a few weeks instead of this weekend because of the levy break this morning. They're saying we'll be without power for six weeks or more now. CNN is now calling everyone who left New Orleans a "refugee".
I just can't stop thinking about all those poor people still trapped on their roofs. Even though I may have lost everything I left behind, I am still very, VERY lucky that I have friends and family and a place to stay with my pets.
So so glad you and pets and fine, Courtney! And you have such a marvelous attitude...stuff is just stuff, and it can all be replaced. ('cept I am glad you took your cels with you! )
